Mentor captured.. mentor exploded, Nobara murdered, sukuna killed THOUSANDS, a full mental breakdown, then todo bringing him from the brink. In order to get the resolve to walk down Mahito took intense traumas. I think once he accepted everything he got a level of.. idk peace? That made just had him so patient and resolute that he was calm.

Imo it's just showcasing Yujis character development and symbolizes he's not the prey anymore but the hunter. No other "malicious" intent behind it. Gege obviously needed Mahito alive for what's coming next, so that's why Yuji couldn't kill him. Mahito got plot armor in that moment 😅

2024-07-06 03:43:49 +0000 UTCLove your reaction and I understand the mental breakdown, but please cut my boy some slack, even after Todo's pep talk, Yuji is still mentally and physically destroyed plus he just expended a ton of energy in the last blow and on top of that...of all victories, who wouldn't take their time to savor this one? There was no way anyone could have foreseen Geto getting there just in time.

Sukuna had the expression of "You little shit!" Your face at the Takada-chan & Todo part was hilarious. Fun fact, that is the cover of one of the manga volumes! Mahito was scared shitless of Itadori at the end. Things keep happening and you'll get answers, don't worry. Lovely discussion :D

2024-07-05 15:47:55 +0000 UTCThis show does not stop ramping things to a higher level until the last episode. And it was important for Yuji to say what he said for his own sake. He always had a shaky place in the jujutsu world, considering his kind and gentle nature. Everyone was right in the first season when they pointed out he was naive, and his ideals would come back to haunt him. It started slow with jinpei, and the transfigured humans, then shibuya happened. His ideals were shattered, he rushed from place to place trying to protect everyone he could, and in the end he lost things that can never be replaced. His statement to Mahito is a declaration that he is taking his place in the world as a jujutsu sorcerer, that he will accept and bear the burden of the loss, to make sure the curses get exorcised. And Mahito deserved it, to feel the fear and helplessness he inflicted on so many people gleefully. Death itself isn't enough for someone like that.

2024-07-05 13:21:38 +0000 UTCthe thing is right now only 4 hours have passed since the veil was lifted in shibuya. remember the whole jujutsu high is there and more specifically gojo was there too. so the two other special grades (yuta and yuki) are not here specifically of those two reasons. plus they don't know yet that gojo is sealed as well.
