... this was a rough one. I cried a ton, had to edit it down so you guys didn't just watch me sit in my chair sobbing... But I also paused multiple times to make sure I got all the information and process all the emotional blows that came my way in this episode.

I think the hardest thing to feel when you are in similiar relation as gojo and geto when you and your partner had always been runnign forward together and then suddenly you realize you are left behind. First, you try to reassure yourself that it's fine you will catch up to him in no time as per usual but then litle by little as time keeps ticking you had a realization. It hit you. That now you are useless to him. That hits HARD. but also that is life. then you begin to think, an idea starting to aprout in your mind that maybe, maybe this is for the best. It is time. This is where you parts way.

When Gojo became awakened we actually saw a conversation between them. But on Getos end everything is vague you know?

When Geto was depressed, he still thinking of Gojo liking sweets, still telling Nanami to rest, still trying to take care of others. This is what makes me so sad, Geto chose his path because he cares too much and want to make it better for his friends and classmates. Also the lyrics of the opening and ending really hits hard after this arc

2024-05-18 13:03:43 +0000 UTCi'm so sorry you had to experience the sadness :-( falling in love with geto and yet knowing where he ends up is such a weird feeling. while watching episode 5, i just wanted an adult to do something. i know they were the strongest, but it's effed that jj society is like, you two sixteen year olds, the fate of the world rests in your hands, this mission could shake all of society if you fail! but riko and kuroi die, gojo and geto have near death experiences, and it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things because tengen remains stable. life goes on. but geto never moves on from it jj high needs some therapists. it's no wonder why at the beginning of season 1, gojo and the principal put such an emphasis on how you need to be crazy to be a sorcerer or you're not gonna make it gojo and geto's yin and yang vibes, how they were made to complete each other and yet are absolutely doomed by the narrative is just so sad. if you ever feel like reacting to the op and ed with subtitles, i'd love to see it. the op is tatsuya kitani - ao no sumika. he wrote the lyrics from gojo's perspective about geto so that's fun and not traumatising at all another thing about adult gojo that i think about: he put yuji in the room next to megumi, because he thought that having company was better for them. when gojo tells yuta that living alone is lonely and that there's no curse more twisted than love. his recurring motivation that nothing should get in the way of kids enjoying their youth, the best time of their lives. gojo's awareness of geto's isolation, his anger towards the higher ups and jujutsu society as a whole, is just ahhhh too much that's enough sad, here's a cute thing: you know how they get to customise their uniform when they join the school? gojo copied geto's jacket bc ofc he's gotta match his best friend sorry for the long comment again, i apparently have a lot of feelings about these fictional characters. i'm so looking forward to your reactions to the rest of season 2, you're gonna love it, let's goooooo

If he didn’t converse with her I think he would’ve dragged the decision a bit longer. Ppl do have to stop saying it’s solely her fault because she’s never around she didn’t do anything intentionally lol

2024-05-17 21:53:17 +0000 UTCI think one thing that pushes Geto down this path is the fact that he had to go through the cycle of exorcise and absorb by himself. Gojo and Shoko helped him push through an extremely unpleasant experience that is tied to his technique. Eating cursed spirits is just how his power works so he doesn't really have a choice if he wants to get stronger. Not having his best friends around isolated him enough so that he could ultimately be influenced enough and turn on non sorcerers.

Strong enough to keep up with me." in reference to him leaving Geto behind and not wanting to go through that again with Megumi makes me choke up every time. Hidden Inventory is such a beautiful arc and your reactions absolutely do it justice, it's like I'm reminiscing how I felt watching it for the first time. I always appreciate how you take time to figure out the plot points and character development, it makes it all the more worthwhile. I can't wait to see how you feel about the rest of season 2 !!

Gojo’s technique is a whitelist not a blacklist, so his technique keeps everything out, Gojo allows things in. So he means he needs a filter to allow in oxygen and necessities without the poisonous substances. His special eyes probably help him do that.

The person Geto was talking to was the same guy who hired Toji on Amanai's bounty, and the guy Geto killed with that huge 🗿 was the person who walked out with Amanai's corpse in episode 4 with the big bump on his forehead. Yuki the special grade is from Kyoto high, While Gojo and Geto are from Tokyo. And if you watch the intro in the beginning closely you see Gojo sitting in a room on a 💺 while the OST is playing. fast-forward to episode 5 where after the megumi and Gojo meetup. You can hear Gojo's students talking while waking up from his nap. 😴 This is easily one of my favorite mini arcs. I'm happy you watched it, ik it's very tragic too. 🌧️👏♾️😭

Too many anime (One Piece and Naruto are particularly bad about this) stick a flashback into the climax of an arc to suddenly give you a reason to sympathize with the villain, when they could have just stated those motives beforehand. Giving ample time to really develop Geto before going into the next arc, so you're already invested in him as a person going in, was a phenomenal writing choice.

I can imagine Gojo occasionally asks himself why he didn’t talk to Geto more or why didn’t he pick up on certain things regarding Geto. It’s a really unfortunate situation

If Toji had never tried to kill Gojo, he would have never learned reversed cursed technique and fully awaken his six and eyes and become the "strongest". Also if he didn't say anything of his son before his death, Gojo would have never taken in Megumi. If Megumi wasn't there, then Yuji wouldn't eat the finger. Hence, Sukuna would never have been resurrected. That is why TOJI is my favorite character.

2024-05-17 14:25:53 +0000 UTCI'm so curious to know what Episode you're currently on as of right now, and if it's only gotten tougher to edit these releases 😅 all be it your doing amazing & pushing through it all, despite it being the farthest thing from easy or simple. EMOTIONAL SUPPORT IS ALWAYS AROUND IN THE DISCORD! Also just as a little piece of advice, it would really help to have lighter toned, wholesome / fun anime in your mix of watches to help you palate cleanse & be able to cushion these heavy hits, (*cough cough "Spy X Family") but regardless enjoy this reaction so much and was with you the whole way through I was right in that emotional state when I saw it the first time too.
