People say Demon Slayer has basic writing because there’s nothing particularly impressive about it. Of course, it has its moments, like Muichiro's story, but that’s it, just occasional highlights. Overall, the story is pretty basic. That doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. To understand our point, you'd have to read the manga. It feels like a completely different experience. Ufotable took a half-baked story and turned it into a work of art, thanks to the animation, the soundtrack, the artwork, the sound effects, and even some corrections to events from the manga. They practically redid the whole thing, but this time, they made it good, lol. That’s why people criticize the writing, it’s the weakest part of an anime that excels in almost everything else.
