Just a quick note. For some reason the narrator didn't say anything in the Dub version, in the original, when she blushed, the narrator says "however, now that she had being kicked there, her only choice is to become this boy's wife."
Love at first kick haha

Yeah the outfit is weird. Also Oolong is a kid. He just sounds old because of the VA.

OH! sorry i forgot one thing...I know I'm long winded sue me....chi chi is also a term Japanese children use to refer to their father when talking to someone else....so Master Roshi's conversation with himself in that scene includes....Chi Chi....and her chichis....and her Chi Chi....which i found very funny....I'm done now i swear.

Also, the original Japanese audio is quite a bit different in some places. For example, in the scene where Bulma is taking a bath and Goku comes in to help her wash her back. They actually have a different conversation wher Goku says he didn't realize girls have a butt on their chest.....talking about Bulma's breasts which is the real reason she gets so upset and starts throwing thengs ard runs him out of the bathroom....also when Master Roshi first meets Chi-Chi the conversation he has with himself in the background is actually about Chi-Chi's chichis....as chi-chi is actually a sang term in Japanese for breasts. In many "official" translations howver even ones with japanese audio and subtitles this is changed for fear of offending american audiences as many such jokes that would just be seen as cheeky in other countries would be considered WILDLY offensive in the States do the characters ages.

Bsed on what i've read. Dragonball is more of a goof. The guy who made it didn't exactly take it all that serously at first becaue he didn't really think it would be particuarly poplar. Many of the characters are given pun names, for example Bulma is a word in Japan used to refer to the type of undewear Japanese school girls wear in gym class it literally means "Bloomers". The characters of Shu and Mai are named after a Japanese dumpling dish "Shumai". By the time Dragonball Z came along the show had become much more popular so the writer took the story much more serious. The tone of the two shows are very different. Add to this the fact that the original Dragonball ran from 1984-1989. Dragonball Z ran from 1990-1999 which means MOST older millennials and Gen z grew up at a time when DBZ was still running on TV so THAT'S the series they're msot nostagic about. HOWEVER, I am a huge completionist so I too simply had to watch the original series first....otherwise it would have caused and itch in my brain.
