Almost forgot to mention. That adventurer in the first episode is a parody of the classic pulp hero Doc Savage. He's one of the inspirations for Indiana Jones and James Bond and even Superman. A very influential figure. Strangely, despite how long he's been around and how popular he's been, he never got his own movie.
