I absolutely love the dynamic between Lani, Kaiser, and Taka. It’s funny that Kaiser plays along with Taka’s bits but Lani just no sell’s him sometimes. (Like the whole arm crossing thing) Taka just seems like everyone’s little brother and that is adorable. But anyways Scott is the best Trunks. No other opinion is valid. Future Trunks is my fav DBZ character- always has been always will be- and Scott CRUSHES it. I kinda wish you guys did your own actual dub of the show, though I understand how that wouldn’t be possible.

When Kakarot showed up to save Gohan and Krillin from Nappa he had them split a senzu, but while both were severely injured neither were really about to die. On Namak Recoom had them and Vegeta one foot in the grave. I have this theory that if you were 1HP away from death, a senzu would bring you back to 100HP, but half a senzu would only bring you back to 50HP. On Namak they were expecting to need everyone at their best so splitting them wasn't an option. Here I think Trunks was close to death and while Gohan eating the senzu might have regrown his arm (it doesn't seem to regrow Saiyan tails but iirc they can regrow teeth) there was probably a good chance that with the technology around Trunks might not have made it. OMG it never clicked for me that it was the clones! I thought this version of Bulma would hunt humans for protein, so glad it's the clones though. And also very glad you didn't make Trunks a clone. Bulma just has a thing for Saiyans (hard to blame her). But if there were ever a master cut of DBZA where you fixed the things you'd do different in addition to seeing Gohan yell "why didn't you dodge!!!!?" I'd hope you cut the scene with the scream so you just hear Bulma say "trust me I tried!" and you don't get to find out what she tried till this special. This, Scott, is the best edit of Trunks' first SSJ transformation. The music you choose fits wonderfully but more than that the flashback edit is incredible because I can see Trunks imagining the kind of fight it would have taken to kill his hero as he's walking towards what he knows he can't handle seeing. The silence and just letting that moment sit so uncomfortably makes that first 'Gohan' so much more windswept and then bringing all the sound from the rain back as reality crashes down around him and you get the voice break in the scream. It's so raw and powerful you could show just this clip to someone who knew nothing about DB and it would still hit hard. Well done man, a true masterpiece worthy of standing alongside any official media (and this isn't the only scene I think that about). On a final note, since this is my first time really commenting; thank you TFS. Hearing these commentaries is wonderful and shows how what started as a fun little aside became a love letter to not just DBZ but the franchise as a whole. Everyone of you and your collaborators have contributed something amazing to the DB universe. If the rumors about a reboot from OG DB that's better paced and has more foreshadowing really is in the works and they do bring in younger VAs who can keep doing the parts for years to come, it would be a terrible mistake to overlook anyone who worked on DBZA because of the love you all hold for the series in addition to the mind blowing vocals and professional quality editing.

If there was a possibility of cloning still, why couldn't she given Gohan a new arm from his own DNA? I mean hell she could performed that type of surgery to connect a new arm, she is a jack of all trades kind of doctor if you think about. I know it's a weird thought process but if you think about it, it was possible if the resources for it were there.
