You may be wondering about the demon that Desi's dad sent to retrieve the grimoire. He's actually related to this guy...

Ever since I drew that shopkeeper, I liked the character design so much that I wanted to bring it back in some way. This seemed like a great time to do so!

Cthulhoids: Both the shopkeeper and the creature in today's EiAD are part of a type of demon called Cthulhoids. As you can see, there are significant differences between different species — in size, color, wings, etc. But all Cthulhoids feed on mental and emotional energy. It is extremely rare for one of these demons to drain its target completely. Rather they are much more likely to leave their quarry to recover — for future feedings.
