[IMPORTANT] Plans for November
Added 2022-10-13 16:30:01 +0000 UTCThis will be a very long post so please feel free to take your time to read it throughtfully
It is no secret that I have a very long to-do list (I am deeply ashamed of it, but I can't deny the truth) particularly when it comes to Requests, and as some of you know this has been quite the harsh year in my personal life (especially september, all the plans I had went directly to the trash due to a very nasty person, thankfully things seem to have calmed down), not to mention how my plans for taking a break have also been postponed multiple times due to a couple of unexpected hardware emergencies (my pc died back on May and then my phone on September), I have good friends that have insisted that I should take a break, at least a couple of weeks, but I just can't do it, I have work to do and I couldn't be able to rest with that weight in the back of my head.
Before things went crazy last month I was seriously thinking on finally taking a break during November, at least a week, but instead I have taken a decision: I will use next month to priorize finishing all the request I got between January and July, the plan is to have 1 batch done per week (aprox 20~ drawings) and focus on September's during December, maybe sooner if things go smoothly
The goal is to finish this year with all the Request of this year finished and have a clean start for the new year, otherwise I'm sure it will make a huge impact on my confidense as an artist, its already making me feel awful every day I open my folders and see all the unfinished work...
According to schedule I should open requests next month, but I have decided to move the activity to December because I want to avoid spending the whole month thinking about how by the end I will have even more requests to do (that's just how my anxiety attacks me)
I hope you can understand my point and if you feel like switching to a lower tier during November please feel free to do so, no judgement on my side, also, have in mind that during next month I will be posting a new sketch for Patrons Suggestions and all patrons of all tiers can send their ideas there.
With that last part in mind, here is the reason why this post is a poll:
It would be irresponsible of me not take this situation into consideration for the future, I want to improve myself but I also need to be realistic and, if I have learned something during the last couple of weeks, is that I need to have a plan for unexpected situations, but I don't want to make a big decision without asking all of you for your opinion, so I have a couple of ideas on how to proceed from now on.
Until now my schedule consist on a two-month cycle:
- 1st month: Requests + Suggestions
- 2nd month: Weight gain poll
- [Repeat]
While this seems ideal it has proven to be quite fragile when real life situations affect my time and energy to work, which has lend to my current situation. So, in order to have a more flexible schedule where if one month something happens I don't get buried under unfinished work, I propose the following arrangement:
- 1st month: Requests
- 2nd month: Poll
- 3rd month: Suggestions
- [Repeat]
This way I can focus on poll results right away and hopefully be able to finally catch up to all these drawings you all have been waiting for so long (I haven't forgotten about any of them, I make sure to have my to-do list in my wall near my desk at all times), and while I find this way more efficient, I still don't feel right making this decision by myself alone, I want to know what all of you think, should I properly move to a defined 3-month cycle, or should I keep going like always and sometimes take a month off-activities to catch up if I really need it?
I want to know your thoughts, this poll will be available until November 30th, so feel free to take your time to decide (this post will be pinned once next month begins)
Comments
I'll say it's a very good idea. We'll let you work this November and try the 3 months cycle, that's a very instructed path.
