This story actually begins in January 2023.

Last year Isabelle and I dreamed up an exhibition which took the form of the " Growth " exhibition. We put a call out for other artists to join us in exhibiting their work and celebrating the human form. One of these artists was Fiona Fairone !

Fiona's work really stood out to both of us, with her self-portraits showcasing the wild, free and raw expressions of the human body, truly unbelievable work! The only catch was Fiona is based in South Australia, and this exhibition was set in Meanjin Brisbane. Both Izzy and I didn't think Fiona would want to come up all this way to exhibit with us.

However we both suprised and delighted when she told us she would! So she packed her car with her art work and made the journey up to celebrate the human form with us. I am still so humbled that someone like herself would be willing to make the trek to be part of our dream, thank so much you Fiona !

These photographs were taken after the exhibition in July 2023, after what felt like a whirlwind of emotion and excitement.

I wanted to express my gratitude to Fiona for making the journey, so we spent a cold and wet afternoon together in the rainforest creating art like artists do. We spent time talking and sharing our dreams and desires for 2024. She's already got some big things lined up, like being a part of the Adelaide fringe festival in February!

I'm hoping our paths cross again in 2024, but until they do I'll be continually cheering this creative on and celebrating their work!
