[Ramblings]
People have often asked me when I started photography.
I used to say 3 years starting around 2020 due to needing a creative outlet during a hard time in my life.
(Break ups haha)
But I've recently realised it's actually a bit of a lie. Long before I took photos of people, it was mostly nature and random travel photos for many years.
But I really wouldn't call myself a photographer back then. Just someone who wanted to jot down a memory to look back on.
I was, and still am that annoying travel buddy that has to take one more photo before I leave an area.
I promise you it will only be one more photo....
Even now while my art is mainly people focused I still don't really know if I consider myself a photographer. Having too title one self always feels a bit odd, not just in creative spaces but even in life in general. Maybe creator of memories sounds better? That feels a bit facetious haha let's not call it that either.
However, when I think about why I like to take photos now. It's because of a burning desire to bring forth an idea into reality. Maybe it's a image of nostalgia that I often think about, or a day dream that I'd like to realise.
I have a few little daydreams that I would like to realise next year. A few core memories from my teenage years reading pop culture magazines that i'd like to make a reality. I'm looking forward to what these ideas will evolve into over the next few months.
