Just go to the prequels now. As far as Ripley, Hicks and Newt they went back and of course that company didn’t believe them. They all left civilization in disgrace, went back to earth and decided to live off the grid as a big happy family. One day uncle Bishop came to visit and told them that Weyland Yutani went belly up over the scandal when the evidence of all of the combat footage filmed during the battles was recovered. And none of them ever went to space again. THE END.

This is one is about an orgy breaking out on LV-426 between the characters of ALIENS, but the debauchery can't get started till Vasquez "gets her big black boots on." Over 30 minutes of what mostly amounts to additional character development but it makes EVERYTHING so much more impactful. You even get to meet Newt's family on LV-426 BEFORE the xenomorphs decimated the colony. Plus, Ripley has a powerful and tragic backstory (no, not the alien and cut for time), that I won't spoil here, that is actually the driving, motivational force behind everything she does in this film. Make a date with that cut of the movie sometime in your future.

2025-11-27 23:50:57 +0000 UTCReiterating: If you have an appreciation for our veteran Scream Queen / Final Girl Sigourney Weaver, then you absolutely must check out COPYCAT (1995), in which she turns in one of her most dynamic and amazing performances. It sadly found itself caught between the shadow of SE7EN, released earlier that year, and SCREAM, released a year later and was dismissed as a clone of the former (it isn't, it merely has serial killers in common and that's it, nowhere near the same vibes and COPYCAT leans into its slasher DNA) and too early to ride the horror revival wave caused by the latter. But it's an amazing movie, has achieved cult status and has an absolutely stacked cast including Holly Hunter (it has TWO Final Girls), Harry Connick Jr., Will Patton, William McNamara and a young (and very cute and charming) Dermont Mulroney. An iconic opening on par with the greats (before SCREAM made big swings as prologues a thing), 90's vibes (it charmingly has to do a little exposition to explain the internet to the audience), wonderfully three-dimensional characters and tension out the wazoo. I think that you would LOVE it and honestly, Queen of Queens, Sigourney Weaver, the first and best to ever do it (and an actress who actually LIKES the genre) hasn't gotten enough love and air time on this channel! Give it a consideration.

Second, this is just one of my absolute favorite movies of all time, probably second to Jurassic Park. It has always been a part of my life, and to this day I will stand by that Ripley is legit one of the best female characters ever. A queen in every single way. I like to pretend the story ended here and Ripley, Hicks and Newt became a family for real. I am so fucking serious about that.

2025-11-25 16:46:24 +0000 UTCJust a reminder that Romulus intentionally draws from Alien³ and Alien: Resurrection in addition to Prometheus and Covenant, so I REALLY hope you don't skip either of them if what you're looking for is a complete experience. Romulus is 100% a celebration of every non-crossover Alien movie. Specifically, I think you would be shorting yourself on Sigourney Weaver's best performance in the franchise if you skip Alien³, and her performance in Alien: Resurrection is quite interesting as well, for reasons you'd have to wait and see. She has recently spoken about working on a new Ripley movie with franchise producer Walter Hill, so watching these movies could also be important for the future. Also, if you watch Alien³, make sure to watch the longer Workprint/Special Edition version (which is widely available on digital rental/streaming platforms) as it is far superior to the theatrical cut (which at times doesn't even make sense).
