[poll] What is you hardware
Added 2021-04-17 16:50:19 +0000 UTCHello dear patrons,
We would like to know more about your hardware to provide a better compatibility of the game and allow more people to play it in good conditions. In this poll, we would like you to check all options that are true for you about:
- the VR headset you use,
- the GPU you use,
- the CPU you use.
Please only check an option if the game runs smoothly with this hardware.
We also need to know the GPU with which the game fails to run properly, but most patrons with such a hardware are most likely unsubscribed now, unfortunately. Don't hesitate to give more detailed feedback in the comments!
Thanks for your contribution!

What seems to be the problem? can you tell us more about your hardware (CPU, headset)? Have you updated your drivers?

2021-04-24 18:16:10 +0000 UTCI'm afraid RX 570 is below the minimum recommended. you would need at least a RX 580 to run the game in low quality. We will start working on a lite version of the game to be ran on the Quest 2 as a standalone. This version will be ok on your hardware and should come in a month or two. In the meantime, would you like a refund?

2021-04-24 18:08:05 +0000 UTCThis issue usually is due to a weak GPU. What's yours?

2021-04-24 17:14:56 +0000 UTCHello and sorry for the inconvenience. First, please note that ComeCloser is exclusively playable in VR and won't work whithout the VR on. Also note that SteamVR is mandatory. The white pillar problem is most likely due to SteamVR not being found by the game. You can try this: - restart SteamVR, - restart your headset and re-confirm connexion to the PC, - update SteamVR, your Quest and the firmware, - if you are using Virtual Desktop, switch to cable. Hope it helps!

2021-04-24 11:22:59 +0000 UTCWMR is not natively supported, but with SteamVR you can easily bind the actions on the buttons of your controller. Go to SteamVR, controllers, binding manager, custom. There are only 4 actions to bind: - bind "interact holo" and "continue narration" to the trigger, - bind "grab holo" on the grip, - bind "recall holo" on any button under the thumb.

2021-04-21 21:03:14 +0000 UTCThank you very much for your feedback! We are planning to ass a very convenient tool to aligne the virtual world with the real one, Hopefully this will solve the issue of the altitude slider, which is far from perfect indeed. About the button to change pose I understand. You can still go into SteamVR -> controller bindings -> custom bindings to change it to whatever button you would like. the action is called "continue narration".

2021-04-20 07:29:25 +0000 UTCI subscribed and supported THREE different VR XXX Titles last night. Yours was the last of three I tried, all similar. Yours was the only one with hand collision and allowing me to move the other person. Yours was the only one with any avatar (the magic pecker) and the only one where I did not have to use a 3rd party app to adjust my altitude. Best in show so far, and very close to VAM (an honor). My only issues occurred as mere annoyances, like its kind of difficult to make the magic pecker and altitude align correctly. OH, no good having the next pose on the trigger (index) need to move that to a button not involved in grab movements (like trigger is), either way I'm gonna smack that trigger by accident literally all the time.

2021-04-20 01:21:14 +0000 UTCRunning a 3950x, 128GB of RAM and a RTX 3090 FE. Quest 2 with a TP Link Archer 1800 router, running through Virtual Desktop. I have not noticed any low performance (which is to be expected given this hardware, just offering this as a data point).
2021-04-19 05:39:02 +0000 UTCThanks for the information. It's very useful.

2021-04-18 12:28:14 +0000 UTCYes I have been troubleshooting over the last few weeks, I have up to date VD, display driver & OS.. I originally notice a system error in the event logs but that is no longer the case: Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll Facebook is due to release Air Link so we will see if it change anything compare to VD. But I did try the Link Cable and the issue was still present (it actuallu closed the link connection)...

2021-04-18 09:16:49 +0000 UTCIt still lags, and if I shake my hands too much, which isnt a lot shaking, then they kind of get stretched and look weird. The usage was caused my unnecessary programs starting up automatically, and medal using gpu instead of cpu and some other settings in medal.

2021-04-18 05:50:41 +0000 UTCi think nvidia bragged about 3 games running at 60fps in 8k during the launch, all of them using dlss to make the job easier. i believe with the extra pixles rendered before the image is morphed for the lens the reverb g2 is pushing 9K pixles, and it wants to run at 90fps not 60! so 100% resolution on the g2 isn't really something even the rtx3090 can cope with that said even with the res at 50%-70% i'm getting a sharp enough image with most of the graphic options turned up. anti-aliasing is a good one to disable, many older games optimised for the first gen VR headsets have that on by default and it has absolutely crippled performance for me. so i don't think my use case is one to worry about. i'm not even sure dlss 2.0 works for VR. it would need tech like that to have a chance of full res at 90fps. it's just not something i expect from most games. i suspect it will take another generation or 2 before there is a graphics card that can push the reverb g2 to the limit. i know this isn't the most helpful of information, so i guess this is more about what not to try and fix :)

2021-04-18 00:25:01 +0000 UTCThanks, we have had several reports of that behavior using AMD 5xxx and Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop. We suspect that VD is creating some issue in that configuration. Is VD up to date? Have you tested with the link cable instead?

2021-04-17 22:46:05 +0000 UTCDo you have a decent frame rate now you have managed to free the memory? What was causing the memory usage?

2021-04-17 22:37:12 +0000 UTCCPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz GPU: 2070 RTX Nvidia 16 GB ram Headset: Index I get low frames, and I got it fixed so that I now have about 10 GB ram available when I dont have anything open. So I have 10 GB Ram for the game.

2021-04-17 21:46:05 +0000 UTCThanks you for your feedback. What headset do you use? by low fps you mean more like 15fps or 50 fps? Our 2070/Valve Index dev machine gives a solid 50fps with the default quality settings 'high, high, high, medium". Graphics quality to high is pretty intense and should be avoided for most hardware.
Ben Dum
2021-04-17 20:17:20 +0000 UTCSorry for the inconvenience. Can you tell us more about your hardware? CPU, GPU and headset?
Ben Dum
2021-04-17 20:05:00 +0000 UTCNote that ComeCloser uses the GPU a lot but mainly for GPGPU computation, which does not depend on the resolution (cloth and hair physics). You can try to set the graphics quality to medium, which mainly sut down the ambiant occlusion, and try the full resolution of your Reverb. It should be ok with your RTX3090

2021-04-17 19:51:57 +0000 UTCThanks for your feedback and sorry for the inconvenience. The RX580 has been reported to work almost ok with all settings to low in v0.3 and is considered to be bellow the minimum requirements unfortunately. That being said, we will create a lite version of the game to be run on standalone Quest, that could be release for older PC too.
