The Great Escape (1963)

Hey everyone!

I escaped the tech difficulties that popped up and it felt very method while watching this movie! I had to fix this and that! Like these men I was resourceful! Who knows if Mercury’s in retrograde, but I caught it all within seconds! Except… didn’t notice my mic dropped for about 10 minutes in the middle—ugh. So sorry about the audio in that stretch. Thankfully, backup mic came to the rescue!

The Great Escape (1963). Wow. I didn’t expect this story!! I kept wanting to call it “wholesome” in the end even though that’s not quite the word—but it just had so much heart. These men rallying together like that, the way they believed in something bigger than themselves… it was powerful.

Some devastating moments especially when they lined the men up and shot them all… I felt gutted. I knew something was coming. It felt like this brutal gut-punch after all that hope. But somehow, even in that heartbreak, the film still carried this sense of purpose and strength. Like, they didn’t escape in vain. It meant something. LOVED that bike stunt!

Thanks for voting on this poll! Was for sure something different than expected and got to see some actors I had yet to meet! Especially my new crush JAMES GARNER! The coolest POW I’ve ever seen. Feels so wrong saying that LoL! Excited to watch some of these guys in other rolls! Especially Steve McQueen!

Glad you watched this film ames there's always something about true story's. Operation Daybreak is another true story ww2 film. They remade it in 2016 I think called anthropiod. But the original is a credit to the bravery of the soldiers of war. Especially against the odds. This is a classic with humor and funny bits that it wasn't all heavy and dark.

Yorkshire Shaft

Steve McQueen .. the original and only "King of Cool"!
