He's really an enigma... Plays oddball characters effortlessly (Raising Arizona, Wild at Heart, Valley Girl) but when he's given a really juicy role he also rises to the occasion and delivers Oscar worthy performances (Leaving Las Vegas, Pig, Birdy)....

I was about 8 or 9 years old shopping with my mom, then she grabs me and runs up to this big stranger and says "That's Tex Cobb!" He was very polite, a little bit shy actually. But it's funny my mom was so star struck that she ran up to him without a second thought.
