Tremors (1990) Watch along!

Comments

I saw this one when I was 14 and it was one of my favorites. Great combo of light horror and fun. Always glad when I revisit this one. I agree with the The Right Stuff recommendations as it does have Fred Ward and many other big names. One of those movies that makes history fun, though there of course were some creative liberties here and there. Another fun Fred Ward movie is Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.

Fantastic reaction Ames! You are right this brings me back. I was pretty young when this came out. I remember it coming on all the time when I was a teen on local cable in the summer so for me this movie give me a July/August afternoon in front of the air conditioner vibes haha. Thank you once again for this gem of a reaction! Happy Spooktober! πŸ‘»πŸŽƒπŸ¦‡πŸͺ±

Another thumbs up for "The Right Stuff"

An enjoyable appetizer to start this month's menu. Fun movie and a cool creature. Especially nice to see Michael Gross breaking away from his role as Steven Keaton on the sitcom Family Ties. He really sells the whole survivalist schtick. Also want to mention Fred Ward; one of my favorite overlooked actors. Hope to see him here again. Maybe The Right Stuff? Guess we'll see on Thursday if Misery loves company.

When this came out it was regarded as just what it was intended to be: a fun homage to 1950's horror movies, specifically those directed by Jack Arnold, who almost always had them take place in the isolation of the desert. It was never regarded as being in the league of (the later) "Jurassic Park", which was much higher budget (yes, it's the same girl. She seems to have bad luck with giant monsters). This franchise suffers from the usual diminution of quality over time. I'd quit after three or four.

LMAO I loved this movie actually! It’s just pure fun and guts

My coworker suggest this! Hahha

I would recommend reacting to the 1996 horror film Tremors 2: Aftershocks at some point, if that's OKay? While it doesn't have Kevin Bacon as Val, it does have Fred Ward returning as Earl, who's been hired to deal with a Graboid infestation at a Mexican oilfield. Plus, it has Michael Gross returning as Burt Gummer, which makes Burt more of a main character. It helps cement Burt Gummer as one of the legendary horror heroes and sets Burt up as the main character for the sequels after Tremors 2.

One of my favorite horror movies. A great creature feature where the characters don't act stupid. I also love that the Graboids are treated as wild animals. Tremors is basically an animal attack movie, but with an animal that doesn't actually exist.

Started watching this at the babysitter's house. I was seven. Watched it atleast once a day for years. Stirred my quest for "being prepared."

Flatliners (1990)

We need to start the 6 degrees of Kevin bacon game from this movie !

Amalia Wolf

Right. LOVE Tremors. It's a comedy. Hoping she'll add the Fly sometime she knows it's right up her alley. Fingers crossed.

AJ

Thanks for the watchalong Ames, fun lighthearted movie. The polar opposite in tone to the runner up The Fly. Both good films and worthy of your time, but it would have been a much different start to spooktober.

Catchermag

There's no way this isn't going to be a fun reaction! See you on the other side!
