Halfway Broken 89 & 90

Right! First of the month means the first release of the month! Specifically, 5,800ish words of Halfway Broken!

In this release the crew returns to the Grand Line. One general note about that? How I'm intending to run the 'timeskip' years is a combination of four things. First, which we've already seen with the previous release, is training chapters. Important, but too many of them would get old quick. So, to break those up is the rest of the bits.

The second bit is the repurposing of some anime filler, movie islands, or places that individual members of the crew visited during the timeskip (such as Weatheria). An example of that is the repurposed anime filler islands is the first thing we'll run into now that they are back on the Grand Line.

The third component is the occasional original island to flesh things out.

The fourth and last thing applies to all of the above, in that a fair bit of time will be spent on crew interaction and dynamics instead of combat. Luffy's relationship will obviously feature, as it has all along. But we'll also likely see more POVs from other crewmembers more frequently.

All of this is in service of making sure that covering the timeskip years doesn't get boring or repetitive. Or turn into one huge training arc that takes forever :-p. Hopefully, the mix works out pretty well overall. As usual, the new stuff is attached here in various formats, and I'll be posting new Master Files in the Pinned Post. I'll also put author's notes in the comments below when I have time.

Note: Post images are snapshots from the anime filler episode/movie tie in episode that I pulled the island they are stopping at first from.

…thought I already sent this one MUCH earlier since this is just one edit but uh… Oops. Edit 1: Those that didn’t “so surrender”… Those that didn’t “surrender”…

The Foreign Traveler

Establishing a position to high precision is stupidly easy. So long as you can measure distance traveled you can triangulate with a few measurements, a little time, and some math.

Is it normale that chapters 86 to 88 are missing?

Nice little reentry into the Grand Line. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they run into during the timeskip. Regarding navigation, you have a point, but it's not that simple. I'll avoid infodumping and rabbitholing unless asked, but the short version is that the method you suggest would work, so long as the ship is sufficiently far from the Eternal Pose's target island that its relative angular position isn't changing quickly. That really only matters though if the ship has a charted course and target, although using it to try to set a standard Log Pose is a good idea. As for using 3+ Eternal Poses as a pseudo-GPS, that would only work if the distances between the target islands were known to a fairly high degree of accuracy and precision.
