Why Was There No Truck?! (Ch 14-18)

Alright! Time for the new release of 'Why Was There No Truck?!'. I'm pleased, if still a little surprised, to see how many people like this crazy Amalgam-verse! This time, we see the opening bits for the formation of Alyssa's team. You can guess who's involved by the art, I suppose ;-). Note that the team will grow in time, these are just her first steps! Nocturne's Art is one of the official covers from the Marvel Exiles comic run (though I caution you, I've changed her a bit, see authors notes for that). The Black Canary art is the work of diabolumberto. Like Nocturne, her details don't 100 percent match any single DC version of her, though her changes are less significant.
This update is a little bit slower than the previous content for this fic, I think. Several things needed to happen, including a fair bit of dialogue, in order to start putting various bits into place for later events. I think it came out reasonably well still, though, and is only just barely shy of a full 15,000 words. So a healthy update all around.
As always, the new bits are attached to this post in various formats. Likewise, I'll be updating the Master Files in the Pinned Post shortly. There will also be a few Authors Notes in the comments, once I have time to write them up! I hope you enjoy more of 'Why Was There No Truck?!'!

Oh, oh please recruit Mercy! Winston and Tracer would fit in as well. Winston especially as he's more of a scientist than a fighter. Having Doomfist become something like a Kingpin would be amusing. It's the AI's from Overwatch that are the real threat from that setting. They have the ability to build rather robust armies, and even Kaiju sized mechs. Really love this story.

I'm afraid your Blue Man Group theory doesn't hold water, since I don't remember even hearing about them until I was already well into my teens, and I've never done more than watch a youtube video of their work ;-). Hmmm, I was into DnD in my fairly early teens, so maybe Forgotten Realms Moon Elves are to blame? Or, probably more likely, Mystique from the X-men cartoons. Assuming we go with blue at all, rather than just 'exotic' in general, which I think is probably a bit more accurate... I'm absolutely angling for Barbara to defect eventually ;-). Though, since I'm writing this one a lot more by the figurative seat of my pants, it's not certain it will work out that way. I'm fairly with you on Superman. I understand why people like him, but...he's basically the ultimate Gary Stu. I don't blame his creators for that, he was one of the FIRST ever comic style heroes, which means they had ALL the mistakes to make still and hadn't needed to put any thought into balanced worlds. But the end result is that he's just...not entertaining, as far as I'm concerned. Too perfect, too OP, too plastic, really.

This story has so much potential and I definitely think you should add it to the monthly vote. Also , this is the second story you’ve written that looks like the first love interest is a sexy, exotic, blue skinned individual. Did you have some awakening as a child relating to the blue man group? ;P I think it would be really funny, if the OC/SI takes Barbra from the bat. And then also fucks White Tiger. And this is coming from a Batman fan. Thank you for removing Superman. I hate him with a passion. Literally the worst super hero in my opinion. Great chapter!

Just when I got used to the LAST UI change Patreon forced on creators, they changed it again, and now I have to figure out everything piece by piece that I used to do habitually in a new system. I seriously, seriously, loathe the fact that they change the creator UI like, twice a year, at minimum.
