Yesterday was a whirlwind of crazy! Cosplay is such a unique artform where so many factors come into play when trying to recreate video game characters that don‘t exist— like trying to attach guns to shoes ffs!
After getting kicked out of our first indoor location choice (which allowed photography), after my guns came off my shoes twice AND it started raining, we chose to shoot in front of the St. Paul Cathedral. Chase has shot here before and I assisted a high school photography project once in the Cathedral so I knew they were pretty flexible about photography. Even still, it’s always good to shoot fast, ask questions later. Thank God (get it?) we did cuz a priest came out five minutes into the shoot, where we were standing only in the second platform of the staircase no where near the church, and kicked us off their property. Can’t believe we got sone cool photos in that short time span though!
somrtimed this is just how cosplay goes — if you don’t have thousands of dollars to book private locations, you gotta get creative and flexible :) In the future I will FINALLY figure out the guns (two cosplays of Bayonetta and I still can’t figure it out) abd when I do I‘d love to shoot this costume again!
