The art itself was beautiful, distinctive--and the story of Fernando and Patricio’s relationship as they learned about each other was bold, refreshing and hopeful. Their dialog was sophisticated and mature, and you shared their emotional and physical intimacy with great care, humor and intelligence. They met their challenges with a level of awareness, grace, empathy and forgiveness that is very rare in this particular art form, and the celebration and sense of wonder surrounding their union was rarer still. I couldn’t help but see myself and my relationship with my husband of almost 30 years reflected in Fernando and Patricio’s commitment to each other. While our own paths met in a very different way, and our own struggles together with jobs, hospitals and health still challenge us, I still am amazed by how our promise of three decades ago remains the rock upon which we both firmly rely. It’s a difficult thing to describe to others—I’m so grateful and surprised to have found your work, this series, that comes as close as it does to capturing that feeling. Thank you for sharing it!
