Yeah, the way that the battles where fought is soo scary and they are soo vulnerable!!! It feels insane for sure! But all war is insane!!!

Hey Ames, you were awesome as usual with your last reaction. It’s so nice to see someone who is conversant in film language, respects the material (instead of just goofing on it) and has genuine emotional reactions. Well…I *assume* that they’re genuine. 😬 you MIGHT just be an amazing actor. You recall what the late great George Burns said: “The secret to great acting is sincerity. Once you can fake that, you’ve got it made.” So in response to your admission that 1) you don’t know a lot of history and 2) you would love to learn more history, may I suggest this weirdness: a 19 minute crash course if all of human history, titled “The History of the Entire World, I Guess”. Overstimulation and sensory overload are a distinct possibility. I suggest this not for you to react to, but just to enjoy. Or react to, if the spirit moves you. Great reaction as always, Ames! (and awesome editing!) Along with the many shocking and heart-breaking personal tragedies which are highlighted in the film, I am always SHOCKED to see the troops standing in a line, shoulder to shoulder, in the middle of an open field, firing at enemy soldiers who are doing the same. Cognitively, I understand that battles were fought in lines at the time because of the limitations imposed by the muzzle-loading musket or muzzle-loading rifle (reloading speed, range, and accuracy), and the limited ability of an individual soldier to operate independently or defend himself, but emotionally, it feels INSANE!! As with all wars, what a tragic loss of life on both sides!
