Omgosh! Highschool kids are Cruel! The “nerds” are always the special ones! Little hidden gems! And often become the best ppl out of a graduating class! So I think you have done well! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ I think you nailed this right! Soundtrack is so rad!!! And Jason London whom I never knew was a twin! Was stellar!

I was twenty-one in 1993 when this was released. I don’t recall seeing much publicity for it at the time. It wasn’t until the summer of ‘94 when it got released on home video that it became popular. Full disclosure: I was not popular in high school. I know this may come as a shock to many of you. 😉 I was painfully shy and being bullied for many years will do a number on your confidence (or lack thereof). I was a nerd or geek and made friends with anyone and everyone. My friends just happened to be into stuff like “Star Wars” and my weekends usually consisted of watching “Degrassi” (the original), “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” and whatever movie was on at the time. I never did drugs or drank back then or smoked. I was uncool, but I followed my heart and never marched in lockstep with any crowd. In 1976 I was four years old so I’m not qualified to say how accurate the movie is or not, but it feels very authentic. There was another movie similar to this which was released a year later called “The Stoned Age”. It was very different and nowhere near as good, but the way it was marketed made people think it was practically the same movie. Matthew McConaughey gets most of the attention and rightly so, but props to the other cast members especially Jason London who really shines throughout this movie. The soundtrack is phenomenal. The producers wanted to get “Dazed and Confused” the Led Zeppelin song. However, they were unable to secure the rights.

Always entertaining watching 2 nostalgia films, this one and American Graffitti, that launched the careers of over a dozen big stars and their directors!
