Thanks Ames for reacting to this series. My favorite miniseries of all time. My grandfather served in the occupation of German immediately after the war. He brought back a German pistol. My other grandfather serving during the war as tank gunner in North Africa and was awarded a medal for destroying a bridge. Then, he landed on a Normandy beach on D-Day. He rarely talked about D-Day, but he told my brother that he could hear bullets whistling by.
