Late to comment on this but feel obligated as this is my favorite film of the 21st century. The theme of love of an art form turned to obsession is very personal to me. While I never lost my mind, I probably would have had I not given up my craft. That being said, I consider this to be more dark comedy than horror. The ending seems quite logical to me in a Stockholm Syndrome sort of way. For me this film is the full-meal-deal.
