I'm honestly quite sad that you decided to go with Game Caterers rather than Hwarang or Youn's Stay but I'm glad I am getting to know more KPop idols. The only people who are familiar to me for now are the ones who guested at Suchwita. I can only remember Yeonjun because I'll never forget his drunk face (lol) and don't know the others' names. There are also familiar faces from when Jimin and Suga joined some dance challenges but for now it's hard to memorize their names. Hope I'll remember everyone! TXT is hilarious cause they are as chaotic as BTS. Their music is good too. Enhypen has good music. Their show is good too. Le Sserafim I love their music. Theyre also a goofy bunch. People call the oldest Sakura and the youngest Eunchae...Jin and Jungkook cause they act like them. Go on twitter and look for videos its pretty funny. Also Eunchae is Jungkook coded look that up on Twitter also. Its pretty funny and I fully agree. Lmao. If you ever get to know another group I really do think TXT is a good place to start. Good music, funny and an absolute chaotic mess. Its a win win. Haha.

After BTS, the groups I've spent the most time listening to and watching content for from HYBE would be Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen & Le Sserafim. I recently watched the whole season of I-LAND (the survival show that formed Enhypen). I saw SVT in concert nearly a year ago, and they are so fun and talented (and desperately wanted to see TXT a couple months ago but couldn't make it).

Don’t know how much you will be venturing out into the HYBE family but if you do I would highly suggest SVT. They are so amazing, very hardworking and very chaotic especially with 13 being in a group.

2023-07-06 08:19:48 +0000 UTCthis has been so much fun to watch with you, familia! can't wait for the next one! in regards to ages and names...that's a task and a half lol i shall do my best! - obviously lee hyun (aka our bighit founding member lols), baekho, and minhyun are the eldest overall lol (baekho and minhyun were in a group called Nu'est [pronounce New East], who were under Pledis so they are directly sunbaes of SVT) 1) for Seventeen, they only had half the group and most of the introverts for this particular show hahaha (if it was their variety show Going Seventeen, all 13 would be going all out lol). they also recently did a complete member collab with Na PD/Game Caterers if you are interested in watching that familia! okay age order for them: ---Joshua (eldest here lol, 95 liner, shares the same birthday with our Taehyung hehe...he's Korean-American), Jun & Hoshi (96 liners, Jun is a Chinese member), Mingyu & The8 (pronounce Dee-Eight, also a Chinese member) these 2 are 97 liners like JK and are very close with him since 2016...Mingyu was even recently on that short Weverse Live with JK hahaha, next is Seungkwan he is a 98 liner (aka our Kpop professor or has a PHD in Kpop ahhaha he doesn't really have a PHD familia, he just knows a lot of Kpop hahaha), and then Dino [pronounced Dee-know] is the maknae born in 99. (and just for reference since svt has 3 different teams/units in the group: Vocal Team: Seungkwan [he's one of the main vocals] & Joshua HipHop Team: Mingyu Performance Team aka Dance: Hoshi (he's the leader of this unit), Jun, The8, & Dino) Special mention to BSS aka BooSeokSoon since Hoshi (Soonyoung) was on Suchwita and featured their song "Fighting" there...Boo is Seungkwan's last name. the only member not present in that sub-unit is DK (aka Seokmin) 2) TXT, Yeonjun is the eldest (99), Soobin (leader, 2000), Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai (pronounce Hue like Hyu..if it's too hard we just call him Kai hahaha, he's Korean-American grew up in Hawaii) 3) Enhypen (whom some of you have seen when you reacted to BTS being on I-land the competition show...they are the final lineup) ---Heeseung (pronounce like "hee sung") is the eldest...trained with TXT too hence why the group is also close with TXT, Jay (Korean-American), Jake (Korean-Australian), Sunghoon (former ice skating world champ..also at this time he was an emcee for Music Bank that's why during the game they put former and current emcees when Soobin and Sunghoon were beside each other because Soobin was the former emcee before Sunghoon took over), Sunoo, Jungwon (the leader, he's also known as the youngest kpop leader ever), and then Ni-Ki (he's the maknae and Japanese, hence they were just kidding when teasing him with the watermelon because of the language barrier) 4) Le Sserafim - at the time they did just debut hahaha just 2 months old, NewJeans was still prepping for their debut at the time. ---Sakura (eldest and Japanese member...this is her 3rd group debut), Yunjin (Korean-American, she sings opera too, this is her 2nd group debut, the previous group was with Sakura & Chaewon), Chaewon (leader, 2nd group debut like i previously mentioned), Kazuha (Japanese, and yes 15 years of ballet experience), and Eunchae (maknae and as of July 2023, still one of the current emcees of Music Bank..i believe during this particular picnic, she was the youngest overall having been born in 2006) 5) fromis_9 - not as familiar with them, but i do know that they are more popular in Korea overall more than internationally. they were a project group created from a reality show that turned into a permanent group. all the members are Korean, no foreign members...they were acquired by Pledis in 2021 but debuted in 2018. and recently after this picnic, one member left after her contract ended to pursue acting. from what i've researched: Saerom is the leader and Jiheon is the maknae. My daughter showing me Face by Nu'est( Min Hyun and Baekho's group} was my first introduction to Kpop. I used to listen to it all ,but BTS got my attention and i have never looked back. There was just something about them that was different. I adore Lee Hyun ,but who doesn't one of the OGs of Big Hit, when he talks about the start of the company when it was him, Hitman Bang, Son Sung Deuk and PDogg he gets emotional. I love TXT because BTS promotes them so much. I got to know Enhypen from i-land(I watched to see how Big Hit would do a survival show) and I like them as a group, i love some of their songs as well.. Seventeen had a show before their creation and I saw some of that. They are great performers I am hit or miss with their music if i am honest. fromis-9 are the group i know the least about member wise but I know their music from seeing them perform on music shows their song FUN was a blast.. I know that just after this aired one of their members left the group. Out of the groups my favourite has to be Le Sserafim, my attention was caught by the very first thing they put out. They reminded me so much of a young BTS. Their performances are just awesome and they are funny , chaotic and adorable as well. Thank you again for the reaction 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

2023-07-04 23:43:27 +0000 UTCahhh i loved these episodes! yeah newjeans hasn't debuted yet when this came out, if i remember correctly. among hybe groups, i stan bts (obv, my ult), seventeen (also an ult), newjeans and txt. I'm a casual listener of lesserafim. hybe has so many great groups! here, the oldest to youngest artists are lee hyun (solo), hwang min hyun and baekho (nu'est), seventeen, fromis 9, txt, enhypen, lesserafim. as a carat (svt fan) i would love for you guys to get to know seventeen more, i think you'd really like them since you love bts, and bts and svt are really good friends too! they have 3 97 liners who are friends with jk, especially mingyu who hangs out with jk a lot. they're great guys and have great music. in contrast to bts (whose roots are in rap/hip hop), their main strength is their amazing vocals. their vocals are absolutely insane! they have a game caterers episode with all 13 members that was uploaded recently, and i think it's a great place to start! edited to add that the8 is his stage name, his real name is minghao (he is Chinese) or myungho (his Chinese name in Korean), he's definitely among the chiller/quieter members of seventeen, not a man of many words but when he talks he's very honest (and sometimes savage). i'd say he's a bit like yoongi except with a peaceful aura of pretty flowers floating around his head all the time haha. he's also a phenomenal dancer (used to be a b boy) so it might explain his flexibility, strength and balance (he's one of my svt biases!) and you're right about seungkwan having a big personality! he's THE variety king and kpop professor, he is very knowledgeable about kpop songs and the industry (especially between second gen to now). he's a social butterfly and thrives in shows that can showcase his personality. he is charismatic and funny, and not too shy to show that off. although most non-carats know him as a variety king, he's also one of the main vocalists in svt and his vocals are absolutely unreal - full of emotion and very powerful. all 13 members of svt are fantastic vocalists but if you see their live performances, you'll understand why he and dk were chosen as main vocals. svt definitely have some of my favourite vocalists in the entire kpop industry.

Along with Mingyu also they are also part of the 97 liners and are good friends. Mingyu and JK even recently filmed a challenge of Seventeen's song 'SUPER'. And I know this is wishful thinking, but I hope you will give seventeen a chance to check out more. Seventeen (SVT) and BTS are good friends with each other. JK also attended their concert so many times. SVT and BTS actually have a lot in common. So I hope you will react to them more :)) I recommend their game caterers episode! It was pretty recent. Okay, I may not be of the fandom of these other groups but they all have songs that I love!!! And I know a little bit about the members because after this series of episodes launched and I loved it, I did a little research on each of them. I even watched Going Seventeen (which is Seventeen's show, just like BTS have Run BTS) and I loved several episodes. Thank you so much for reacting to this, family! I am glad you are enjoying yourselves, I confess that although I watched and enjoyed it very much, I was worried if you would really enjoy it so seeing you laughing made me doubly happy! I think other armys who even have more knowledge than me will already talk about the doubts you have about the other idols, so I will stick to saying this: It only gets better. These first episodes are very funny but it only gets better, seriously, the BEST OF ALL is the last one 😂😂 you will see what I mean! Anyway, I love you familiaaaa !!!! Ps. So good to see these talented groups come together to have fun, Hybe is really a one big family. I love Seventeen out of all the groups here, if you are an ARMY, it's really not so hard to also like and appreciate Seventeen because they literally have a lot of similar qualities with BTS, self-producing idols, amazing performers, a brotherhood bond that is so strong and they're also as chaotic as BTS, no wonder why both groups are also friends in real life, Seventeen members Mingyu, DK and THE 8 are friends with Jungkook as they are all part of the 97liner circle in Kpop, but Mingyu particularly is the closest one to JK, in fact, JK recently did Seventeen's SUPER dance challenge with Mingyu. Anyway, so in the 3rd episode, the one who did the limbo rock from Seventeen was THE 8 (pronounced as "DEE - 8"), his nationaly is chinese and his real name is Xu Minghao, but he chose his stage name THE 8 because 8 is his favorite number as it symbolizes "infinity" and it's also the lucky number in chinese. and then, the member who was chosen to be the tagger in the first game was "Boo Seungkwan" and he doesn't have an actual PHD, but a PHD in K-pop, he's called the K-pop professor because he loves K-pop in general and he knows so much about it. He's also the funniest member in Seventeen, kinda like a comedian too and he's also so good in hosting. If you are open to suggestions on what to watch in the new tier and want to explore more of the Hybe family, Seventeen actually has their own special episode in Game Caterers, you'll be able to see their personalities more as they are super funny and chaotic, lol. and this is not to deep dive to Seventeen or other groups, this is just another content that you can watch for fun and since it's also under Game Caterers and Seventeen members are good friends with BTS. Anyway, I can't wait for the next episodes, Familia! it gets better! love you guys! Borahae!

Other than some TXT songs (during their "rock" era) I really don't like any of the music of these bands. I gave all the bands plus other company bands deep dive research but Seventeen and the gangs music is not my thing. I do research for a living. Is my understanding correct that this tier will not have anything BTS related in it?

Niki and Kazuha aren’t fluent in Korean in these eps but the others I think are fluent but might not know old Korean sayings or references!

I also wanted to point out (especially bc it'll come up a lot in the next episodes) that when they refer to anyone as a foreigner, they mean anyone who isn't both fully Korean and also born in Korea. So you'll see a lot of the groups say they have foreign members, which could mean any number of things. Some of their "foreign members" are either not ethnically Korean (e.g. Le Sserafim has two Japanese members and SVT has two Chinese members), some are Korean but maybe born elsewhere like the U.S. or Australia, some are maybe not fully ethnically Korean like TXT Huening Kai (even though Kai spent the large majority of his life growing up in Korea). All of these are people they'd refer to as foreign. And it's pretty common in a lot of kpop groups. I'd imagine part of their training includes learning Korean or they might just pick it up along the way while working/living there.

2023-07-02 14:08:42 +0000 UTCSEVENTEEN are more of like the social butterflies in the whole of k-pop but let’s say in the HYBE family for now, they’re specifically under PLEDIS ent so they trained with the former group NU’EST (which baekho and minhyun were from) and they’re also quite close with fromis_9 (the group that called Seungkwan handsome and hot) since they’re also under PLEDIS ent. they have three 97 liners that are part of the group along with Jungkook (DK/dokyeom, mingyu, THE8/minghao) whom you have probably heard about from Jungkook, mingyu specifically is a close friend of Jungkook, but overall all SEVENTEEN members are quite close with BTS. they got close with TXT, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM and NEW JEANS after joining the HYBE family and they treat them like their kids especially ENHYPEN. and they have known lee hyun for a long time as well. As you already saw in this episode the member seungkwan is really popular and he’s basically a social butterfly himself, so along with his group, they have such bangers, they’re all equally talented, hard workers and such great performers like everyone says, they are so raw and real and they’re genuinely HILARIOUSLY. they’re loving and loved by everyone in the industry even outside of HYBE for a reason. And I’m really sure that you’re going to enjoy them as well☺️

2023-07-02 13:53:58 +0000 UTCactually ENHYPEN (you’re pronouncing it right uthman) and TXT are close, some of them became friends during their BigHit trainee days and the rest met during the show “I-LAND” (where enhypen came from) and also after both of the groups debuted and they just clicked. they have done many contents together, they had a series where they played games together, Yeonjun is featured in one of ENHYPEN’s songs “blockbuster” and he even performed it together with them, they have done collab stages as well and a whole docu of behind the scenes of that, overall they mention each other a lot and are pretty close, so if you see them pickering more than anyone in this series, that’s why😂. Also ENHYPEN has three “foreign” members: Jay (Korean-American), Jake (Korean but grew up in Australia), and NI-KI (Japanese), Jay has always been fluent in Korean, Jake still gets confused sometimes with some words but overall he’s fluent, but the member who wasn’t fluent in Korean is NI-KI, as he is fully Japanese, and he’s pretty young as well (17y/o), debuted at (15y/o), so to clarify that for you, this series was filmed a while ago, so at that time his Korean wasn’t the best but now he speaks Korean almost if not fully like a native (we are all so proud of him) + the song that marisol liked at the end of the first part is called “future perfect (pass the mic)” by ENHYPEN.

I am clueless (SORRY!!). For TXT: 1. Eldest is Yeonjun 2. Soobin [Leader] 3. Beomgyu 4. Taehyun 5. Huening Kai - Taehyun and Huening were both born at the same year, same like V and Jimin, just few months apart hehe. - If you are able to watch more videos about TXT, for me, Soobin is a mix of Jin and Namjoon. He has the leadership at the same time straight to the point and he is scared easily hehe. I fell for Seungkwan during this collab hehe. I really like his personality, that's why I got so sad when he cried during In the Soop Season 2 [SVT]. SVT and BTS have the same bond if I'm not mistaken hehe, they have a strong bond. Enhyphen is the group from I-Land hehe, the show where BTS visited.

If you know K-pop well, it's really fun, but if you don't know it, I don't know if it's fun. But it might be a good video of introduction to kpop history. And it’s just so fun and chaotic even though im not their fan. And besides BTS, i like le sserafim among hybe artists because of their powerful performance. When i was bored missing ot7 performance, i saw their stage in award shows and i got chills similar to that i got it from bts. Their passion to the performance reminds me bts sometimes. Maybe it’s because i just miss bts so much haha. And especially i like huh yunjin who is a singer song writer because i like talented woman haha. Btw she is American

I’m slowly becoming a fan of seventeen but not quite there yet, all I can say is that they’re a funny bunch of guys. Just a mental note for the future, Ni-ki (the maknae of Enhypen) is Japanese so the misunderstanding with him and TXT was because of the slight language barrier, his Korean since I-land has improved incredibly. Jake (Of Enhypen) is Korean Australian raised in Australia, Jay (of Enhypen) is Korean American, Huening Kai (full name Kai Kamal Huening of TXT) is Korean American as well born in Hawaii, and finally The 8, like I said I don’t know too much about seventeen yet so idk why that’s his stage name but his real name is Xu Minghao (Korean name Myeong-ho) he is Chinese so there also a slight language barrier there as you’ll notice I’m future episodes. Nonetheless, all the foreign idols can communicate well with their team but obviously sometimes it’s a bit harder. Just wanted to let you know so when you watch you can piece some things together ! Also, Newjeans had not debuted when this came out, you guys were right !

He doesn't actually have a PHD, I think they were making a joke because Seungkwan is very knowledgeable of K-pop groups in general and is like "A Master" at all things KPop but I could be wrong lol. I really am enjoying rewatching this with you Familia! The Hybe family are all Crack Heads in the best way possible! Out of All the groups here my favorite is Seventeen, They are actually Hilarious especially Boo Seungkwan haha

Like they work in the same building and interact sometimes. But "Many of the BTS members are friends with other members of 17" seems like an overstatement. I'm just wary of that language because multis do that a lot. Invent these close relationships out of one-off interactions or a mention on a live stream as a way of convincing ARMYs to check out another group...but then BTS always says they don't have a lot of idol friends. I just think we should avoid putting words in BTS' mouths like that, you know?

TXT and Enhypen both have their own variety shows too and they do a couple of collab episodes. They spend a lot of time together. So Watermelon-gate with Ni-Ki (who's Japanese by the way and, fun fact, the kid from I-Land that Hobi said was a good dancer) was all in jest. TXT just has an insult-driven comedy style sometimes. They're much rougher with each other than BTS is. haha. I don't know what the trajectory of this tier is but I'm kind of hoping it's not like a full-blown multi thing because it's just less fun to have shallow content on a dozen groups. If you do decide to start branching out with other groups, I hope you pick just one (beyond BTS) to go down a rabbit hole on. And my vote for that is TXT. I'm just a casual TXT stan through BTS but they have a really incredible discography, BTS comes up A LOT, there's a ton of content there that's accessible because it's kind of similar to BTS' format, and the boys are all really hilarious and have great chemistry. It's a different brand of crackhead than BTS' brand but they're known in the idol-world for being great variety-show stars and really dynamic entertainers. I watched this spy game they did and nearly died laughing. They're good kids too. Smart and kind. And they have a big single coming out July 7th (?) with the Jonas Brothers that could be fun to start out with. Anyway, I think that would be preferable in my opinion. You guys are such great reactors because you really pay attention and you learn and you care about what you react to and the thing with reactors who jump into so many groups is that they lose that because how on earth do you pay that close of attention or form real bonds with 100 idols from a few videos each, you know? But again, that's just one girl's opinion. :) I hope you enjoy yourself regardless. :)

Enhypen was the team that was built from I-land. You remember when JK got caught trying to raid their snacks from the cupboard, we watched BTS give some great advice as seniors..that's the team. Yeonjun is the legendary trainee for Hybe, I believe he set a standard. He's so humble and helpful. SVT, oddly had their middle children and maknae line in this series, two members Minghao & Mingyu are part of the 97 line with Jungkook. Seungkwan (SVT) is one of the best idol MC hosts I've ever seen, the tagger from the game. Lastly, every maknae in hybe gets away with murder except Dino from SVT 😂

Okay, so the guy with the yellow/whitish hair in Seventeen (Seungkwan) is extremely comedic and funny, he's the MC for a lot of Seventeen's stuff. He also has a Daesang for 'Male Idol Entertainer'. Seventeen are very much idol comedians and they always feel they need to be funny and entertaining. Also, take your time as well, you want to be having fun, not feeling burned out or pressured to try and fit another reaction when you already do so much. I'll support you no matter what you do.
