I really love and appreciate this idea where you dedicate an entire hour to a single song! it's so cool (& makes so much sense) to react to a song that you're already familiar with, because that's exactly how army gets to know more and more about the music they're listening to. i've been enjoying these reactions so much - thank you for sharing them! <3

QOTD: When I first heard Mic Drop I was literally blown away because I was new to Kpop and Bts in general so hearing this it made me feel so hype. I also love their fashion as well I like to think of it as street fashion or like hip hop fashion.

I learnt the choreography to this song and it made me appreciate how much they put into their craft. Thank you for bringing back memories for me too!

It's always the companies that don't let the groups shine enough and it's just so sad to see, I don't get why those companies restrict these groups from doing anything. It's quite annoying sometimes when outsiders blame other groups when they didn't do anything wrong, nor do they (not Mari & Uthy) even know those groups probably, that's just someone judging them. There are groups with so much talent and some people can't or just refuse to acknowledge them or their talent cause they think their group is better than everyone else and they aren't deserving of being on the same level as their group. The love Mari & Uthy have for BTS is wonderful and I think it's more western media/music industry that needs to see that BTS aren't just some joke group that they can take advantage of, nor can they take advantage of ARMY. Okay, I went on a bit of a tangent, sorry.

2021-10-13 23:19:10 +0000 UTCahhahaha yesss! totally get that ego boost when they performed mic drop at MAMA too! but at the time, i was thinking of other groups' toxic fans. which ofcourse not all of the fandom. those who are toxic, i really hope they listen to this song. i'm a fan of the BIG3 groups too. not really a stan but i know a lot of them. trust me, they didnt do anything wrong so i really hope people will stop hating on the BIG3 groups. yes they have the privilege but they worked so damn hard to enter that company, you know. with all the burdens as groups from the BIG3, these idols are really working so damn hard. i can understand that people are hating on the media, toxic fans for the mistreatment but the BIG3 idols? they have nothing to do with it. just hoping that people can recognise their talent too <3

2021-10-04 13:54:02 +0000 UTCWhen they performed Mic Drop, they were already exhausted to death from performing four consecutive intensely choreographed songs with all their strength. After Mic Drop Some of them collapsed on the chair and couldn't raise themselves for a long time. But the most heartbreaking thing for me was Namjoon's impromptu acceptance speech, which was so RAW, so emotional but full of resolution. 2017 was prob the year they were hated the most, slandered most viciously, and armys got hurt most deeply. Therefore that Daesang was not just one grand prize, it was something that really proved all their hard work, humiliations and wounds were worth it, before army. When he shouted ARMY and said "Bts is not sad anymore, not painful anymore!! We are confident and proud!!!", what I heard was their pain and hurts of long time spoken out publically for the first time..

2021-10-04 05:27:35 +0000 UTCthis MAMA performance is so legendary bc u can see the anger/passion and it was really the members saying "we're here to stay" bc lots of people thought they were a fad and they'd die off. lots of the big agencies' artists seemed a lot more bitter towards them during this performance too than previous award shows, and eventually they'd just stop showing up to the award shows knowing BTS was gonna win. and mic drop as a song was pretty much just a big F.U. and a flex on all the haters lol. but the camera work was def terrible, I hate when award shows zoom out to show the crowd during a dance break so you can check out the bangtan bomb focus if u really wanna see the choreo and everything: https://youtu.be/floMqK_yHf8

2021-10-04 05:14:46 +0000 UTCMic Drop at Mama 2017 remains in my top 5 favorite bts performances! I still remember that night! There was a hunger to them that just felt different. You have to remember this is back when they were still competing for the #1 spot with other groups despite clearly having the most successful year. This was actually one of the first (if not THE first?) time they were given the last performance of the night at an award show which is reserved for the biggest act. And yes you’re completely right that they were performing in front of all these big agency groups who they had fought so hard to have an even playing field with! They 100% had something to prove that night and you could feel it! The passion was pouring out of them. THEN to top it off…they won Artist of the Year immediately after their performance. Mama had them go straight up to accept while they were still literally dripping sweat (AOTY is usually the last award but an SM group was there and the theory is they had to let them close the show because big 3 still had more power) You can watch on your own time but there are idol fancams from that performance if you wanna see audience reactions!

2021-10-04 04:25:16 +0000 UTCMan i remember that MAMA performance like it was yesterday.. As much as it was legendary and such a big deal, it was also such a big toll of pressure on the boys. For people who dont know, this was the first time EVER that they were the last act to perform on an award show. And in korean award shows, being the last act to perform means you're the most popular and relevant one among all artists there. So imagine how big of a deal it is for our Bangtannies, who's from a small agency, to be the last performing act of the night.. They're even performing in front some of their senior artists in there. And this was after they won BBMA and performed at AMA. So knowing the boys, they wanna make army proud. They wanna show people that they are befitting of all the success and attention. They went really hard and they performed so many songs this day, all with intense choreo.. I remember lots of fancams and pictures circulating of them leaning on a wall below the stage because they were too tired after the performance.. And if you remember Yoongi saying that he cried after performing at the AMA and this was almost 2018, the time where they had such a hard time mentally that they discussed about breaking up.. This was the time when they are being drowned in that pressure of suddenly being this "Worldwide Sensations".. And suddenly, not just in Korea, but the whole world is paying attention to their every move.. Seeing that MAMA performance is always a bittersweet feeling for me ever since knowing what they were going through during that period.. But oh well, i guess, we do have to go through steep and rough roads before reaching the summit.. I'm sure the boys are also thankful for those steep and rough roads, which eventually led to where they are today...

Uthman is right i believe this song and maybe Fake Love and ON are the songs i love to show locals the most, they are just such likable songs. And i have not heard ONE bad comment after showing them these songs ! lol i was an army before this came out so hearing this after DNA was jaw dropping, and i love hearing them flex hahah 💜

But for the most part they're professional peers who treat each other respectfully as far as we know. Idk why people feel the need to make these crossover videos with side glances and smiles and polite bows as if they're all getting drinks with each other after the award show. Collegial peers is normal and totally okay.

2021-10-04 02:14:29 +0000 UTCOh also, one of my favourite things about the MAMA Mic Drop performance was other idols reactions. Senior idols like Super Junior was having a blast. It was so cool to see those fancams. I also like to add though fandoms often fight, idols have really good relationships. BTS are friends with their peers from Big 3 agencies and vice versa. The idol fancams during award shows pre 2018 are so much fun because everyone’s just bopping to each other’s performances, although they’re competing.

The featuring with Desiigner is cool, i wouldn't say i listen to it a lot, but it does hit different!! I love and hate the mic drop performance @Mama 2017, the performance is iconic but i get so mad at the camera work, it's just so bad like the dance break started and the camera was so far way??? And they didn't show Yoongi's mic drop 😭😭 Wish you had seen more performances, but you have already watched a lot of them so it's ok!!
