We are aware of how legendary this era is, so in today's first part of this album reaction, we decided to prep and get all the context to enter this new era! 👏
On top of the BTS WINGS Short Films 1-7, we also reacted to the COMEBACK TRAILER: 'BOY MEETS EVIL' and 'BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS' MV TEASER!
Yes, we have already been down this rabbit hole before but this time we come with an improved perspective and a whole lot more knowledge about the members, so let's get it familia! 😈
Not going to lie rewatching this made us reminisce on when we first discovered BTS! 💜

2021-10-06 09:31:30 +0000 UTCInfo about the MV production: I notice that many YouTube reactors talk a lot about the incredible quality of the MVs; these are basically performance art pieces. Back in October 2020, when I first began to look/listen to BTS, I was immediately fascinated by the MVs as art work. (I have decades of going to various types of live modern dance, and installation and performance art events; I’m almost 73.) So I looked up who is doing the BTS MV productions, and also watched a lot of the behind the scenes videos about the productions. That’s how I learned that in 2015, the MVs began to portray a series of fictional linked stories within an alternate reality. The overall creation of the BU seems to be directly out of the imagination of Bang Si-hyuk himself. YongSeok Choi and the Lumpens team (http://lumpens.com/) created many of the MVs and no doubt have input into the storyline. YongSeok Choi (Lumpens) did the short films and trailer for Wings and most (maybe all) of the MVs involved in the BU. Check out their website; they are in fact strong visual artists who do their own experimental installation work.

It was about the boy's growth. a world full of black and white the confusion that one learns and experiences that there is a 'color' Once you know the color, you can't go back to when you didn't know it. Here 'color' means a variety of things. In addition, we need to pay attention to light and shadows. It's painful to see the light for the first time. It's a must-have process for growth.

2021-05-03 05:51:58 +0000 UTCI've read Demian a couple of times and I think it's important to know that Bildungsroman by Hermann Hesse, first published in 1919; a prologue was added in 1960. Demian was first published under the pseudonym "Emil Sinclair", the name of the narrator of the story, but Hesse was later revealed to be the author. In 1916–17 he underwent treatment through psychoanalysis with Josef Lang, a disciple of Carl Jung. Through his contact with Lang and later, in 1921, from having psychoanalysis done by Jung. Remember that Jung created the Map of the soul concept!!! I think also that knowing the book is a semi autobiography and that the events that hwere important the book were what BTS wings short film highlights, in chronological order. Since the book is about Emil Sinclair's youth.. I wonder if perhaps Jin being the narrator is telling the story just like Herman Hesse did through Emil Sinclair and perhaps all the members are actually all parts of Emil Sinclair or all of Jin or really they're all eachother told through dualities as did the book. Jung says on psychological projection that whatever is rejected from self appears in the world as an event. Ooooooh Jung writes that if these projections remain hidden, "the projection-making factor (the Shadow archetype) then has a free hand and can realize its object—if it has one—or bring about some other situation characteristic of its power." Which is why I think Jin is stuck in a cycle in the story. I love wings era!!!!!!

The metaphors he uses in the song are amazing. The passion in his voice made me sooo emotional. He just knows how to capture true emotions in his songs 💜

2021-05-03 03:59:44 +0000 UTCThis is why sometimes lots of armys tend to say that WINGS was so ahead of it's time. Imagine them releasing WINGS now, with how big and worldwide they are!!! Everyone would seriously be blown away!! Hahahahahh. But this album really propelled them to newer and greater heights. Producing much more fans and getting recognized both in Korea and Overseas. I even remember namjoon saying, in one of the docu-series i believe, that they thought Wings was their peak in their career. Little did they know it was only the start! :) And i love that you went on the chronological order of how they're released. I appreciate that you really take on our suggestions.. Thank you familia! :)) QOTD: 2!3! really just holds a special part in army's heart because it's our first official fan song. Knowing all the struggles and haters that BTS has gone through during this time, them writing 2!3! FOR US, it just hits different familia. Cant wait for you guys to read the lyrics. This is another "no skip" album from our boys, such great songs.. :D

2021-05-03 02:53:35 +0000 UTCYou mentioned you might be watching the MAMA 2016 performance of Boy Meets Evil but that's sort of a remix and only does part of the song. Hobi's solo stage from the concerts is much better to watch for that because it shows the whole thing and he does aerials and shows so much passion. Could you react to that instead of the MAMA performance for Boy Meets Evil? If not, you're really just getting an abridged version and missing out on a spectacular routine that Hobi worked so hard on! :)

I witnessed this song live during the Speak Yourself Tour in 2019 and everytime I listen to the song it gives me a lot of comfort! But also I love Lie because how much emotion Jimin puts in that song and it is just a masterpiece

And yeah there really is a world of difference watching this as baby army having no self control and being a glutton of all contents. Watching as much as you can as fast as you can to catch up and not really understand anything vs. just now relishing each and every detail and appreciating the art as it should be. I love it oh so much that i can get hyped up again of something already released so long ago because if you guys, thank you 💜💜

2021-05-03 01:38:04 +0000 UTCalso, try not to connect the members real stories to the storyline too much. the songs they wrote for wings are all really personal to them and while the writers of the storyline did take some real themes and ideas from the songs, the members were not influenced by the storyline at all in return. so while yoongi's character in the storyline also loves the piano, the storyline isn't actually related to yoongi in any way. (just a note for when you get up to lyrics. a lot of reactors analyse their solo songs and try to fit them into the storyline when they're personal songs) and the post you're reading with descriptions is just someones opinion, i don't agree about it being about namjoon being the leader etc and the theories that they're dead or in their imagination have been disproved since this

2021-05-03 01:16:07 +0000 UTCFamília, this was my first comeback and imagine how i was 😂 Really, it's was so excited idk, each day one short film came out and we didn't know which one were going to be, it was amazing!! The theories, the songs, we didn't even know for sure if this songs of the short film were going to be solos songs because they hadn't done that yet at the time, it was so crazy! And about the theories, now we know that the members are alive (well, most of them depending of the time haha) and they are not Jin's imagination, but it's has a reason why Jin is like the main character or something like that it's because he time travels (the scene where he is in bed and things are kinda like weird) to save them! Now, we know a little too of Hobi's connection with Tae's and more of his connection with Jimin, but at that time?? We were like 🤯🤯 I absolutely love this album, and I'm so so ready for you to react to everything!!! It's gonna be a amazing journey!! 💜 P.S.: bighit clowned us all with the bst teaser haha And jimin drew the bird!
