"Final Exam" Game Devlog

Hi!

Time for another devlog post.

I actually got a lot done this week, even though I can't show it. Sometimes I have to do boring chores. Not even sometimes, but very often.

As I said, after the demo is released, I need to get busy optimizing the code so that the future development of the game will be like building a constructor using standard modules. In an effort to release the demo as quickly as possible, I didn't care much about code optimization. It's time to correct these defects. And for that I have to thoroughly go through all the hundreds of lines of the game code. That's exactly what I'm doing now.

Over the past week I have done quite a lot of code optimization work. But I've also been switching to other work. This is besides creating new size-difference images.

Once I finish the optimization work, I'll continue creating game levels. The second level is coming up, and it's already time for me to think about how the graphical components of the next locations will look like.

I've been thinking about which location to move the next level to. Looking at examples from other games, I decided that the next level would be in the desert. I already have the tilesets for the platforms, and in the attachment I am adding a small fragment of the tileset, which will be used to build future locations.

I didn't update the working build as there were no visual changes to the game.
