It's devlog time for the Size Difference World game.
I keep getting a lot of messages asking why the development of Size Difference World game is taking so long.
First of all, as much as I don't want to do this, I have to remind again about my difficult life situation, which is not getting better in any way. Please read all my previous posts on game development. Many questions can be answered in them.
Secondly, as I said before, I have another project in my priority right now - size-difference platformer Final Exam. Yes, I realize that most of my followers like the concept of Size Difference World better. However, it takes a long time to develop such a game. Especially for one person.
Let's talk a bit about the genres of the games I develop. Obviously, Size Difference World will be in the RPG format. Although, realizing the globality and complexity of this project, I'm thinking of turning this game into a quest, keeping RPG elements to a minimum. However, no matter how it turns out, the main base in such a game will be the story. And the more elaborate the story is, the more interesting the game will be. Games of quest and RPG types require a well-thought-out scenario. And making stories and writing scenarios is the hardest part for me.
I have an idea for Size Difference World and some gameplay ideas, but I haven't worked out the story in depth. At the moment, I'm just creating the world.
I'll digress and say a few words about my another game Final Exam. It will be a classic platformer. What is a platformer? It is, first of all, action! A story, of course, adds interest to such a game, but the story is not as important here as it is in a quest or RPG. The story here may well stand in a secondary place. Like for Size Difference World, I also don't have an elaborate storyline for Final Exam (just an idea). However, that doesn't stop me from creating gameplay. A story description will be added at the final stage of game development. This is not the way it works with RPG and quest games.
I want to complete at least one project, so I put my best effort into the game that is easier to develop.
As for Size Difference World, right now, the main work in it is creating size-difference images for the neutrals NPCs' cutscenes. I also wanted to work on new locations in the sewers last week, but I was too busy preparing the demo for Final Exam. Therefore, I only created new images for the NPC cutscenes. Images for the girl in the future image gallery have already been added.
All created images have already been published in separate posts.
The working build of the game has been updated.
