Random Post #81 - Still on the Farm Update. Final!

Likely the final post on this subject, as I’m kinda done with it. I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much time with RPGMaker stuff, but here we are!

So, here's the last batch of changes I’ve been working on these last few days!

Sprinklers:
It’s working again! Yay

Fishing:
Reworked Fishing in its entirety! So, a little story: Zehmun wanted to make a fishing mini-game. It didn’t turn out the way he wanted. He started to hate it. He never touched it again. I also didn’t like it. I didn’t touch it either.
Moral of the story: The old fishing is dead. Instead, we have the usual rpg fishing. Cast the line, wait for an “!”, and pull the fish. It’ll roll on a loot list that is based on the level of your fishing rod, where you are fishing, and the current season.

We now have:
20+ Types of Fish!
3 Levels of Fishing Rods (You get the first one from Clarine. The rest is craftable)
Fish are divided into 2 different types. Sea Fish(Caught on sea), and Freshwater Fish(Caught everywhere else)
Fish are divided into the 4 seasons. There are fish that only appear during the Rainy Season, and some only during the Foggy season.

Cooking:
Cooking is now back in the game! Or rather, it’s now working properly. Cooking has always been that one thing on the list of “Eh, we’ll do it later”, and… well, as you can see from the 4 recipes, it never happened.
Cooking is as simple as you’d expect! Interact with kitchens(All kitchens work) and get the cooking options to appear! From the

We now have:
60+ Cooking recipes! (Using the new crops, fish, processed food from the Wine Cellar…)
3 different levels of cooking recipes(Basic, Intermediate and Advanced)
Lamir now gives the player a single recipe every Saturday when she is standing in your kitchen. (Up to 9)
Crops AND Cooking recipes now recover Stamina! All of them give different amounts! Crops sucks and shouldn’t really be eaten for Stamina, but the cooked recipes recover a LOT!

Gifting
Okay, with 150+ new items that should be giftable(Crops, Jewels, Processed food, Fish AND Cooked items), I needed to rework how gifting works, as it won’t be sustainable for me to add them to the list.
Still, the only real major change you guys will feel is the new gifting menu! No longer will the gifting menu show items that cannot be given out as gifts! I also caught a few common gifts that were missing from everyone’s lists.
We currently have around 170 unique giftable items, so… I hope nothing feels wrong. I might’ve made some mistakes, as dealing with so many gifts for seven character gift lists is quite confusing.

All that is left now is to test Gifting properly and update some shops to sell the new items. (Mostly Celeste and Elinnie, who tend to sell food and crafting stuff)

Comments

I'd never say never, but she is a bit of an oddball in the game. Not related to anyone, existing only inside her quest bubble(That IS optional, so anything with her would force the player to do her quest as a requirement), and a very troublesome character to let loose in the world... So it's hard to actually use her for anything.

Zehmun

Been following this game for years now, awesome to see you're still going! Was going to ask if you'd ever plan on revisiting Seraph from one of the early adventure quests? I remember playing back when she was added but doesn't look like she's had anything since. Keep it up!

ayy lmao

I don't want to give out false hope. These things are a lot of work to implement, and right now, I have no plans to do so. Still, it would be very cool. At least one holiday per season would be really cool, and my "current plans" are usually the update I'm working on and the one right after, so... maybe. The one thing it's unlikely is holiday-exclusive scenes. I'd finally burst from overwork at making individual scenes for the main girls for a single holiday. (Birthdays might be interesting too)

Zehmun

I'll be honest. I won't miss the old fishing minigame. Especially with how elements of the interface would get stuck on the screen. Having food restore stamina is actually a great change. You know, with seasons becoming a thing, ever consider adding special holiday events?
