Random Post #78 - Still on the Farm Update!

Got a few cool things to say! You might not believe it because of the state the farm part of the game has been left in, but I’m actually a huge fan of farm games! So now that I’m finally looking that way, there’s just so much I wanna do! I’m actually really passionate about this, so I might be stuck here for a bit.

DONE LIST! (Not counting the stuff I mentioned was already done on the last post):

-I got the crops working and growing in different seasons! I’m adding a whopping 20 crops to the game!!! (And taking out the old ones. So I guess it’s a net positive or 12 or so new crops)
-I was able to make the regrowable crops, which can be picked many times during the month.
-Crops wither when left without water for long or left planted when going out of season.
-I DID code in two Water Can upgrades! One that waters a 3-block line, and another that waters a 3x3 square! Still need to decide on how to take care of upgrades
-Added a scythe to clean up the withered crops AND pick up crops!

Wanna do list(Keep in mind, I might not be able to do all of this stuff):

-MAKE STAMINA NOT BE SO RESTRICTIVE! Also, instead of gaining max stamina from level up, the player will get max stamina from quests or consumables as Incentives for playing/exploring!!! (Can you see in the image up there? almost all the stamina gone from 12 crops and 3 watering actions. It's horrible)
-I want to find a way to add some kind of sprinklers, but… don’t hold on to this idea. Preliminary testing isn’t going well.
-Add fertilizers!!! (Very low priority)
-Rework mining and how the pickaxe works. Stronger pickaxe = better ore = better tools = better stuff/convenience overall = more gold
-Rework the Bum-Bum farm upgrades and how you get Offering Points. (Thinking of making a 1 gold for 1 offering point or something like that, instead of burning crops on the altar of bum-bum)
-Rework all items and equipment prices using the “base crop” as the standard of money making. (Thinking long and hard on where the line is between “forcing the player to deal with the farm” and “the farm is cool, but I’m ok without it”
-Add some gold sinks of sorts. Building bridges, for example. (I’m eyeing that one bridge added on the last update, going from the abandoned house to the right. Maybe fix the bridge to the arena and fix the main arena gates to… to unlock the path to the volcano)
-With seasonal crops, an upgradable greenhouse would be cool! (Because I cannot increase the size of the farm we have without A LOT of problems. There are so many events running on that farm map that it's just a nest of bugs waiting to happen).

So yeah. I'll see what I can do here. A lot of planned things, but not enough time. I'll probably need to trim down some of the things in the list.

Not too surprising. I don't think the game actually tells the player that stamina goes up through level up. The numbers are also very low, so... it doesn't make much difference. Gotta think about gold sinks! I'm sure there are many cool stuff that can be done with gold and I just am not thinking about it.

Would you believe I didn't know that stamina increases from level up? I never made that connection, I thought it was semi-random. More gold sinks are always good. Maybe some more upgrades in the town/area around the town? Even if they're purely cosmetic. Or special scenes that require a consumed object to see for an ongoing gold sink?
