Carmen's Capricious Tonic, prologue

Eva and Rania begin to look at the massive gathering of b collected on the shelves. Recognizable items can be seen, such as the sponge shroom and cleanse grass. The other items on the shelves were foreign to them, though some of them were in boxes labeled “Valley of Steel Outpost inc.” Rania had heard that name on protein powders, while Eva had a vague memory of ancient powerful artifacts originating there.

Neither had time to dwell on this, as the cauldron was bubbling louder and louder. The duo started rather slow, trying each ingredient and noticing its effects. As they tossed in the Primal Peppermint, the brew’s essence began to visibly change, becoming more “Verdant” and less “Cleanse.” Wrinkly Brain Mushroom did the same by changing the essence to “Azure.”

Without a word Eva and Rania seemed to decide on changing the brew, from a cleanser to something else. Something to help restore Carmen in some way, leaning more towards the “Azure” essence with a touch of “Verdant.”

Through trial and error, and a whole lot of luck, they figured out what each ingredient did. Wrinkly Brain Mushroom , Go Olives, and Cuttle Nerve Tentacle provided “Azure” essence, while Draconian Fire Morels, Primal Peppermint and Heart of the Stone Mother provided “Verdant” essence.

They continued to mix and match, with Carmen stopping them only twice; once to stop them from ruining the brew with too much sponge shroom, and the other to keep them from blowing themselves up with Rubbing Gin.

Carmen had slapped Eva’s hand with the ladle right as she was trying to pour the whole bottle in. "RUBBING GIN?! What part of "RUBBING GIN" sounds stable to you?!" Carmen scolded.

Finally, the cauldrons contents began to settle, no longer bubbling over and causing the cauldron to shake. Carmen lets out an exhausted sigh, and blinks with one eye closing and opening before the other.
