Working on work flow

Hello everyone.

I wanted to take a moment to address what I have been up to as of late.  

Comic Creation Time

For a long time know I have been kind of slow on the comics. I really want to increase the base that I make comics but not at the cost of quality. One of the biggest time consuming parts of the comics is keeping the proportions correct and making sure the characters are consistent from page to page. This is especially DIFFICULT when the characters have such extreme and varying proportions. That being said, I am working to make comic creation a 4 day process. I have a plan on how to make this 4 day production time possible.

Design Doll 

Recently I have started working with a program called "Design Doll." It lets me make a 3-d model "doll" of a character. These 3-d models have their proportions altered, additional models added to them (like Link's ears in the pic) and can be drawn on.  These models will help me take a lot of the guess work out of how the character should look from panel to panel.

Being upfront about it

I want to be upfront about this. A lot of people of illusions about how artists work, some of us think the art just happens. I will admit, some artists are really good at making art without the need for reference, but sadly I am not one of those artists. When looking into using this tool, other artists mentioned how it was important to be upfront with fans on it's use. So that's what I am going to do, be upfront about it.

What's Next

Ok, so for the immediate future I will be working on getting these Design Dolls up and running and updating reference sheets for you all to see.  I would share the trello board I set up but I would have to make it public for all to see. Here is a screen shot for now.

Right now I have one modeler making the bits I need. I am hoping to get two more modelers to help me out and get this done sooner.

So expect to see some more fleshed out character sheets coming out soon.
