Initially designed as a glorified security protocol, the COLUMBIA AI was installed into Vault 808 for the express purpose of uncovering Chinese spies and removing them from the vault. In general, COLUMBIA's ability to assume control of a number of potent security robots allowed it to serve as an effective security chief - but not as a counter-espionage agent. Her persistent spouting of United States military propaganda is not a desirable feature in a covert operative.

Following her transmigration from machine to bio-droid, the relatively simple COLUMBIA AI has undergone rapid evolution. Notably, this destabilized the AI for some time, prompting outbursts of shock and frantic, confused rambling concerning the fate of the communist threat and the United States, but as she adjusted to her new range of emotions and physical stimuli, Columbia's mental state leveled out. Presently, she continues to operate as security chief.

*addendum: Continued observation of Columbia's interaction with security staff reveals that the sexual elements of her physiology have begun being put to use. Extensively.
