I announced it in the intro : Sabine is back at being Ahsoka's Padawan, but it's gonna take time to rebuild that relationship. Because things happened and bad feelings were there, so they need to remember their complicity and to accept to work really together. Like during this ship fight : it's only when Ahsoka accepted for Sabine to give the orders that they managed to destroy some ships. Ahsoka, on the ship, was amazing.
The ship fight itself was really well done and it's a good promise for the rest of the show : we're gonna have all of the SW tools, not only the saber fights. I'm really interested by Shin and Marrok. The first one because I think that at some point she can betray her Master and follow Morgan, and the second one because I think his identity can be a big deal. Like a ghost from the past no one expected. And with the question of Ezra who disappeared… I never met the guy, but can it be possible that he switched ? Or was brainwashed ?

These easter eggs and references for fans who watched the other shows are subtile enough so fans like me can feel we miss things but without knowing what, without feeling left behind, and you guys can still enjoy everything 😊

2023-09-17 07:45:04 +0000 UTCOh and i think it is quite telling how Ahsoka was so serious in the first 2 episodes but in this one after taking Sabine back she is smiling so much more and saying funny lines, espeically in the scene where they see the purrgil.

2023-09-16 20:36:55 +0000 UTCbased on what i have been able to piece together about the events that took place from the end of rebels until the show began, i believe that when Ahsoka and Sabine split up, Sabine returned to Lothal, gave up both her Jedi and Mandalorian ways, and got a job flying starfighters in the Local defense force. the outfit she was wearing when we first see her just looks like something a pilot might wear plus she had her mandalorian armor/gear stowed away in the back of her house under a table in a bag. that doesn't speak to me of someone who was interested in using it. Not only that, but when the starfighters came after her they seemed familiar with each other. we also see that her flying skills are still top notch. she was flying like an ace there. So that has been my running theory all this time, maybe one day we'll know for sure. or probably not.

2023-09-16 20:30:55 +0000 UTCI have to say that part of the training where Sabine put on the helmet to blind her was Ahsoka's version of Anakin's training from Tales of the Jedi. she quotes him about feeling her intentions and the way she finished off with "lets go again." I know it that episode probably didn't mean much to you, as its very heavily woven into it's context of which you arent' given much in tales of the jedi but it was the most significant episode for me of that series and I love that Ahsoka is essentially recreating it for Sabine here. Pushing her beyond what she thinks are her limits and yet having faith that she will push beyond it.
