Hello !

I'm really glad for Deku, the fact that he manages to understand more and more how to use his quirk without hurting himself. But the second part of this episode about Iida was so interesting and stressful that I have trouble thinking about something else. First, I like more and more his mentor here, how nice and humble he is. And he's giving real infos : in this world, we know that heroes have a contract with the government to be paid and all, but they also have to respect rules and laws. Using their quirks for personal purposes is forbidden, using it for revenge is a crime.

But Iida understood the situation well, he knew that Stain would come back. And seeing him attacking that other hero, he just went for it. Yes, not really to save that guy but really to have his revenge on the villain who hurt so badly his brother. All of his speech was really good but you know my opinion about him taking his brother's name : I want Iida to stop trying to be his brother, but to be truly himself.

I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.

MY HERO ACADEMIA 2X15 EXTENDED REACTION

Comments

Hello ! Yes, you'll see, I truly appreciated how they presented Stain during these fight episodes. For sure, I can't accept what the guy is doing, but he's making it on principles and values which can seem right : he wants for hero to respect their engagement, to not do anything selfish/illegal/immoral, and he gave himself the responsability of punishing them if it's the case.

Horikoshi's writing for Stain is very interesting. He is a villain but he has principles that drive him, and usually acts on those principles in everything he does. In this episode the idea that Stain is testing people is stated explicitly when he faces Tomura, and that he believes that people show their true colors near death. Then later when Iida finds him he says "be careful, depending on what you say even a child can become my target". I am being careful not to spoil anything, I will only say that after many rewatches of this arc I find it interesting every choice Stain makes, and how he reacts to things.
