Can I say again that the symbolism behind Upper Four is amazing ? When he's attacked, his Emotions are out and are protecting him, letting him with just his fear, little and weak. And if it's going too far, Anger is eating all of the other emotions to become stronger, bigger and take all of the place and protect him even more. THE SYMBOLISM, GUYS !! The demon himself, his way of thinking, it's a big no, like he's weaker and deserves to be protected, but all of the weaker humans are not considered at all.
Tokito giving up, it felt weird, but it gave us an amazing moment. Tanjiro's line during a previous episode opened a door in his memories and that's why here, he finally remembers his dad (who has the same eyes as Tanjiro ! It goes with my family theory). But for me, that little kid risking his life to save him, is opening another door for Tokito, it opens the door to his emotions. He's scared, worried, and then moved. YES !

Oh, you think ? Because Tokito doesn't have the same eyes than his father ? For me, it's related to what happened to him, or it's coming from his mother. But yes, nothing wrong with being adopted (my little brother is adopted đ). I see why you keep your theory for Upper One, but I keep mine also đ The symbolism behind Upper Four is amazing, it's probably my favorite demon for that so far. I think the Fear Demon is the real Upper Four, like when you are afraid, you are truly yourself, weak, vulnerable. For the age thing, I just took it as a projection of the real Upper Four : if I'm old and weak, I'm gonna imagine these Emotions to protect him as younger and stronger.

2023-05-24 08:10:57 +0000 UTCSo Tokito's probably adopted, right? There's nothing wrong with that. I was just thinking of why he didn't get the red eyes that so very clearly runs in Tanjiro's family. Regardless though, WOW, they might actually be cousins. But neither of them looks like Upper Rank 1 though, so I'm still sticking to the theory that Upper Rank 1 probably taught the sun breathing techniques to Tanjiro's ancestors, but that none of them were probably strong enough to really unleash its demon slaying potential. I did not expect such this dive into Tanjiro's ancestry coming into this season. So good. The love hashira has to be the facing the hatred demon. Love vs Hate. Love eventually triumphing over Hate. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense to me. But also, yes, I loved the symbolism of it all. To add to what you've said, consider that the last demon isn't just anger, it's HATRED. So it's like a stronger bigger form of anger. I think that it's also symbolic of how when we're in a very emotional state, there's a tendency to only look out for your own needs and disregard the needs of others, which is why the demon's logic is the way it is. I'm curious though what symbolism there is with the fact that the Hattengu clones are young except the fear demon who is old. Also if there's any mechanical reasoning for it. And yes, the multiple baby hands is super creepy.
