After the last episode which was so beautiful and so sad, this one feels almost like a break. But for me, it's a really good episode, made mostly for the relationship between Joel and Ellie. Okay, for sure, the moment with Bryan, with Ellie saving Joel and Joel being forced to kill the guy, was really important, but all of the other little moments between them are as important. The fact he wants to reassure her, she wants to make him laugh etc.
It was interesting to meet Kathleen in this episode and it was well done to not explain stuff, to not push it through one big discussion. For what I understood here : Kathleen and these guys took control of the city, killed people from FEDRA and are after all of the ones who collaborated with them, including Henry who might have done something which pushed FEDRA to kill Kathleen's brother. And I think Henry is the big brother of Sam, because of the Superman drawings.

Hello ! I watched the first clips about the gun, to see the differences you're mentioning : I understand that how she had it is a different thing, but I find similar lines between the game and the show, the most important ones. And I appreciate the change here for Ellie in the show : she found the gun on her own, she is into the action and it shows also that she is brave, she was not afraid of keeping the secret, or maybe one day using it on her own etc. I didn't watch the clip about the car because I saw pictures comparison on twitter, and that's enough for me to understand that the scenes were really the same π I don't mind to have clips like that, it's good to compare, but I don't want to do it too much, to just be there for the comparisons at the end. I want to stay like I am now, as a viewer of a new show π

2023-02-09 13:04:17 +0000 UTCFun Fact: Guy at 26:50 is actually the Voice actor for Tommy in the Game :). Episode 3 was the most changed episode form the game, but this episode 4 was pretty similar, with many scenes being straight up word for word, a much more faithful episode. However, Kathleen is a completely new character and we don't really have a backstory on the ambushers. So everything about this side-story will be new for everyone. I also enjoyed the camp scene they added. I'm glad they kept so many great things from the game like the magazine in the car was all word for word, Joel talking about how he's been on both sides, but most of all how in the game you find the dad-joke book and can have Ellie keep reading endless dad-jokes. Love that. Only minor complaint is simplifying the story of Ellie's first gun kill. I like the more detailed story the game tell.
