DRAWING WEEK 1 - HIS DARK MATERIALS

Some days now that we finished the show together but me, writing you right now these words, I didn't see it yet... But still, I thought that making a drawing of Mary Malone was the good ending for these drawings about His Dark Materials, and about the show, the story. Because, you know, if when I was young, I wanted to be Lyra, to be as brave and impulsive, to have that big mouth, to be so fearless, growing up I now understand how cool it would be to be Mary.
Just imagine all of the lives she had, it's impressive and so interesting. She became a nun and then she questioned her faith because of feelings she had for a man, she left Church and continued her studies (and to meet other guys) and one day, a fearless girl went into her lab to tell her how to communicate with Dust. And then, she continued to do what she did best, to study. With the mulefa, with I Ching, with the amber spyglass... And she became "the Serpent" of that Eden world for our two guys. From a nun to be the Serpent... The beginning of this story and the end, the lesson we learnt, the symbolism we had... Just to say.
