This episode was a lot about the main message of the books : the fact that Eve didn't commit sin, she experiences, she wanted to have a life, she learnt how to love. That's what Serafina is saying to Marisa, but that's also the conclusion of the adventure in the Land of the Dead : people can be free if they are telling stories of their lives to these creatures. To experience things, that's real life, and that's what you're gonna remember when you're gonna die and what can make you have a peaceful death. For Marisa, it's more a question of loving yourself, all part of you (so also her daemon), to be able to love the people around you well.

Both Marisa and Asriel are awful parents, but they both saw in this episode they love their daughter and they can help her to succeed. Because yes, Asriel, you arrogant prick, she's the one who can make you succeed, not you. We're gonna have a big reunion, a big discussion, THE MOMENT, and the end of the war, the end of the story. I didn't expect the writers to prepare that end already with this episode, with what Will's dad said. I'm gonna have at least three tissues for that end.
