With how I was at the end of the last episode, I think you understood that for me, Rengoku was hurt but would be okay soon. So when they insisted on it at first, I couldn't believe it. Even more because after that, Rengoku fought so bravely and it was truly beautiful, with the pictures and the music, the strength he showed, so I thought it would be ok, he would manage to kill that demon. He didn't kill him AND he's mortally wounded ?
Yes, I cried a lot. It has been a long time since I cried that much for the death of a character. Because Rengoku was so brave and such a positive guy, I couldn't imagine him dying here, like that. I'm glad that before, he had the time to talk with Tanjiro, to tell him to go see his brother and father. And I was overwhelmed by his mother appearing and telling him how proud she is of him. It was beautiful, I cried, I took a break to cry more, I had trouble breathing. Rengoku, I loved you, clearly.

I cried when I watched it with you guys, I cried during the editing... Not sure I want to see it again soon, or maybe, like you said, only if I feel I need a good cry 🙈

2022-11-05 14:11:37 +0000 UTCYup. No one was ready for it. It gets me every time. I watch it as much as The Tale of Iroh whenever I feel the need for a good cry. The background music really did an amazing job making the scenes so much more impactful. It was so beautifully tragic. "Set your heart ablaze" gives me very shinzo wo sasageyo vibes from Attack on Titan. Give it your all and sacrifice everything. I love Rengoku. They did a really amazing job telling his story. But they did it too well because now we want more. T_T I will keep rewatching this season just because it's the only way I can get more of Rengoku. I will gladly give him all my tears just to see him more. :( Fun fact: the first episode of this series was not part of the theatrical cut. So I'm so thankful to have it as part of the series just so that we can get more Rengoku. T_T Looking forward for when you start S3. :)
