Yes, yes, the denial is big at the end of this episode, and also at the end of the post-credit scene that I watched at the end of the review. "Oh, come on, he's alive, he's just a little hurt, but see, he's gonna fulfill his duty, meaning killing this demon", was my modjo. And my theory about this demon being Rengoku's brother didn't help at all during that moment. But for that, just know that I didn't give up entirely, I have like 2% of me who is still like "come on, the guy looks a lot like him, no ?"
After the death of Lower One, I really thought that it was all, we would be safe. Like one episode maybe to discover his background and heal our guys, and the final episode to discover his true mission and prepare the new season. Turned out that we know nothing more about the demon and that we have a new one, coming from nowhere. Akaza was following the train to keep an eye on him, or was he a part of that mission ? I have so many questions around that Upper Three.

Akaza can't be his brother, because as Muzan said in the final episode of S1, the Upper Ranks have not changed since 100+ years. Maybe you recognized him from the one time you watched the intro? Or maybe the silhouette of lower 1's final moments thinking about the upper ranks. Also last couple episodes I watched you mention blood demon art. Incase you're confused blood demon art according to Urokodaki, just represents any supernatural ability or spell most demons do, except for really basic low-level ones. The first demon we saw with blood demon art is the Swamp Demon that split in 3, than the Tamari/Arrow Demon, and later Drum Demon. (Eg" Blood Demon Art "Rapid Drumming"). Personally Akaza is my favourite Demon. This is the first look we get at an upper ranked Demon, and it really shows how they're no joke.

2022-11-04 00:54:52 +0000 UTCWhen I reached this part of the movie, I was thinking exactly the same as you were; we're probably going to get the train demon's personal story and everything will wrap up nice and sweet and hopeful. WRONG WRONG WRONG. I WAS NOT READY FOR WHAT HAPPENED NEXT. T_T I hate that they did this, but it was executed so well. Nobody saw it coming. Suddenly, UPPER THREE. I was so much in denial during the fight, but in the back of my head, I already knew what was going to happen. This puts the viewers on notice though: no one is safe. Also, since you've started watching this story arc, I've rewatched the movie at least four times already and have cried so much. Can't wait for the last episode later and cry some more. :(
