Hello !
This episode began with no hope, with Edward attacking and falling into a trap, being so surrounded by his enemies that he might fall from a cliff ! Thanks to Stiorra's army, convinced by Uhtred's words and promise, he was saved. But clearly, my mind was focused on more than the story during this episode, on being sure that everyone would survive. And clearly, this final episode revealed that I love Aldhelm more than I thought. Maybe as much as Finnan, it's to tell you how much !
The conclusion here is really cool because it feels like the end, with Uthred getting back to Bebbanburg (finally !!), but it also feels like the opening for the movie, which is gonna be focused on uniting all of England (finally !!). These two issues wouldn't have enough time in a movie, the first one was really the beginning and is now the end of the show… Everything feels right. I truly loved the recap at the end, to see all of Uthred's journey, all of his friends, his family, his loves, and it felt right also, to have him thinking of Aethelflaed, then Brida, then Alfred… It was rough, but perfect.
