(Tentative) Plans for March 2021

Last post I put up what needs to be done for House of Hellish Harlots.  My aim for the next two months is to prepare a public demo of HoHH to put up on a website somewhere.  This I hope will attract more interest and - more importantly - bring in more funds I can set aside to commission art and music.

As with the last tentative plans post, I wasn't sure what I'd be doing in the month, but by the time I got around to writing the post, was already set on a path.

In this case, I looked at the very old demo for a very different version of HoHH, pulled out the passages I wanted, tweaked them, and then had most of the intro.  What I need to add to that is a conversation between the player and the car NPCs that will be used to set their personality traits.  Pre-set builds are something I want to add, but that's currently set aside for a future release.

After reaching the House, The Madam will give the player a brief (skippable) tour that sets the scene and describes the core game loop.  I'm currently writing those segments.

I'll also be going through the main game loop skeleton and fleshing out the paragraphs to be more descriptive.

This, I think, will cover the 1st half of March.  And then things get tentative again as I can either push on with the NPC Barman's segments and then be completely done with the game core, or do that next month and push on with more harlot scenarios.  It will depend on what's flowing at the time.

There are also bits of maintenance to be done to make the rest of the harlots interact with the charms, but I'll fit them in when I have nothing else to code.

I'm a little conscious I'm neglecting writing new harlot scenarios (the important sexy stuff!), but I'm also conscious that I'm very very close to completing the game core, and as that's got me champing at the bit, so to speak, I think it's best to charge down that path while I'm keen.

I need to replace the 5 remaining harlot placeholders.  I'm tentatively going to aim for finishing off the core this month + 1 new harlot (probably caterpillar girl).  And then have a blitz of writing new harlot scenarios next month (ideally getting back to giving patrons a choice of which ones to add first).

As always, this will be subject to change depending on my usual chaotic approach of writing what feels 'hot' at the time.
