House of Hellish Harlots - Update 19.10.26
Added 2019-10-26 16:20:44 +0000 UTCIn keeping with my desire to keep to vaguely regular updates, here's where I am at the moment. As I said last time, I want to release harlot scenarios in clumps rather than one-at-a-time to avoid them getting solved too quickly and ending up as "dead weight" in later versions.
As a reminder, this is what I want to get done for the next demo release:
- Player personality stats.
- Setting player mindset on entering the harlot's room functionality.
- NPC Madam.
- NPC Gossip.
- 4 to 6 new harlot scenarios.
My development process is fairly similar to my writing process. 1st draft is written long-hand. 2nd draft is typed up in MS Word. Then it's copied over to twine and I stitch in the code. Everything is compartmentalized, so it's easy to test each chunk separately.
So, how far along am I?
- Player personality stats. Put back.
As I mentioned in the last post, I haven't nailed these down yet. Thankfully, the game code is flexible and I can hold off on narrowing down to 5-7 attributes (physical + personality) until more harlot scenarios suggest what they should be.
- Setting player mindset. Done.
I thought this would be tricky in Twine, but it turns out Twine supports a lot of basic HTML hacking. A table of radio buttons isn't the prettiest, but it does what I need it to do.
- NPC Madam Mulligan functionality. Done.
- NPC Madam Socialising functionality. Typed up.
- NPC Gossip. Typed up.
Of the new harlot scenarios.
Harlot #2, Suka no-Hirudo. Done.
Harlot #3, (spider girl). Written.
Harlot #4, Morticia Rose. Written.
Harlot #5, Anna Boa (lamia). Todo.
Harlot #6, (breast smother succubus). Todo.
Harlot #7, (open - maybe Volumpula). Todo.
Harlot #7 may or may not be in the next demo release depending on how quickly I get the others done.

I made a list of all the previous monster girls/succubi I've featured in stories that might work as a harlot encounter. She was on it. ;)

2019-11-05 20:32:11 +0000 UTCI always think there's a distinct lack of Octopus girls. I remember you writing a story with.. what was her name? C'tena? Something along those lines. That was pretty awesome. But then again, I'm biased. :)
