Dissecting a Succubus - "The Banquet of the Queen of the Goblins"
Added 2019-06-09 11:38:35 +0000 UTCTime for some background notes on "The Banquet of the Queen of the Goblins". I won't be going into quite as much detail this time! Obviously, there will be spoilers, so you might want to read the story first – it can be found a couple of posts back.
(I should probably figure out how to put the stories in their own section so they're easy to find!)
This one was fairly straightforward. It was another 'monster girl first' story. I saw the Shiki-esque carnivorous plant girl in H-game "Domination Quest: Kuro and the Naughty Monster Girls" and had some ideas for a story featuring a similar monster girl.
As with most vore in my stories, I downplayed the digestion part and upped the kinky predatory bondage part. Vore is a fairly niche fetish, so it's very easy to lose people by trying to 'sell' them a turn-on (being digested to mush in a monster girl's stomach) they know probably isn't (acid is painful). That's why I like to either double-up the stories as nasty horror, or treat the monster girl as a specialised succubus and concentrate on the kinky predatory bondage fucking part. It broadens the appeal to a wider range of likes and turn-ons. In Comedentia's case, I lined her fleshpot with boobs and gave her an inner suction tube to let her really go to work on sexually pleasuring anyone she gets in her fleshpot. (She can use it on women in creative ways as well. She doesn't discriminate).
As with Oppa, Comedentia is a plant girl and fairly stationary, so I needed a way to bring the protagonist to her. Once I had the anthropologist and 'goblin' tribe angle, everything else dropped into place. Protagonist would be a student brought over to H-space to study an alien tribe, then would be offered up to the plant girl.
This also had the advantage of changing things up a little. I felt I'd been over-using the plot point of having a soldier captured in H-space as a way to bring them to the succubus.
The goblins are minor incubi. This isn't the first time they've cropped up in one of my stories. I'll do a separate piece on them later.
With the protagonist I couldn't resist having a sly little dig at current political correctness, but he's meant to be a mostly good kid with the flaw of being naïve and a little too trusting of the wrong authority figure. He didn't deserve what happened to him, but at least Comedentia made his last moments extremely pleasant (as every good succubus monster girl should).
Professor Kumo takes his name from the writer and artist of "Goblin Slayer", a manga that does a good job of making goblins scary threats rather than the typical low-level cannon fodder of most fantasy RPGs (the other academic named in the story is a reference to the creators of "Battle Brothers" – a tactical RPG that also makes goblins damn scary to fight). Kumo is also Japanese for spider, which seems rather appropriate.
I'm mixed on how Kumo turned out. Once I had the plot excuse to throw Hamish to the carnivorous plant girl, I knew that meant Kumo had to be corrupt, and this was likely something he'd done before. 'Amoral academic' is a cliché and I would have liked to have done more to raise his character above that, but I felt the end section from his perspective needed to be short and snappy, which didn't leave a lot of room.
The main point with that section was to show Kumo was on the way to being enslaved in the same way Comedentia had already enslaved the Pauxillum Constupros. Tsarius made a comment that he would have liked Kumo to have been stronger, which would have made him a better prospective future villain, but I wanted him to be 'weak' in that regard and in denial about it.
There is an opening for a future story, as Comedentia will be sending more than nectar back to Earth…
The names of the demons are Latin puns. Probably bad Latin puns as I got them through machine translation and might not be what I think they are.
I was fairly happy with how this one turned out overall, even if I did get bogged down in the middle of the second draft. A bit more world-building for H-space and a few hooks for future stories.
