Dissecting a Succubus - "Joey Farrell Walks Into An Obvious Booby Trap" (pt1)

Here's part 1 of the director's (author's?) commentary for the boobie monster girl story, "Joey Farrell Walks Into An Obvious Booby Trap" I put out last month.  If you haven't read it yet, do that first as this piece will likely contain spoilers for the story.

Like most of my stories, this one started with the monster girl.  The inspiration was this monster girl from Dieselmine's "Monster Girl Labyrinth".

Which I'm guessing, in turn, was inspired by the 'pile of tits' monster girl, Aradia, from "Monmusu Quest: Paradox".

One of the advantages in using monster girls in erotica is they really allow you to push certain fetishes to an extreme level.  Arachnes for bondage and Lamias/Nagas for breathplay being good examples.  With a boobie monster girl it's obvious what fetish we're trying to hit—tits, giant tits, being buried and smothered in uncountable enormous soft boobs.

(Although, I did have a minor panic when I first announced the story and multiple readers posted how they were looking forward to lactation scenes.  Originally, the story was going to be more about being buried in tits, but it made sense to also add a breast-feeding scene.  A demon boobie monster girl needs to keep her partner fully pepped up, after all!)

The challenge with the weirder monster girls is how to incorporate them within a conventional 'real world' setting (like our world).  Humanoid succubi or vamps can easily hide within human society.  Giant pile-o'-tits monster girls, less so.  Generally, I tend to use the H-space setting for the weirder monster girls.  I wanted to avoid that this time as I felt I was getting lazy with it and while writing the H-space monster girl bestiary entries did generate a lot of short stories, I don't think their quality is good enough to collect together for an anthology on Amazon, for example.

This led to thinking of Oppa, the boobie monster girl, as some kind of eldritch trap.  Which in turn also solved some of the logistics problems—namely, how does a giant pile of tits move about?  Making her a kind of reality-warping eldritch abomination inhabiting her own bubble dimension solved that as well as opening up further possibilities in what she can do.  I was very pleased with how she turned out in this regard.

One of the changes I made while writing the story was to tweak Oppa's personality a little.  She was a little too nice, apologetic even.  A similar mistake is the reason why another story I'm working on is currently on hold.  I think these succubi/monster girls work best when femdom-y, so I made her a lot more forceful when it comes to burying people in boobies.  She's still fairly reasonable and courteous (for an extra-dimensional demon), but I don't want people to forget she's ultimately a cat and you're her mouse.  I like mixing horror with my erotica and this seemed a perfect opportunity to close out the story with one of those classic horror endings where you know the protagonist will never be fully free of the 'evil'.

Once you have a monster, the next step is to fit a story and characters around it.  But I'll leave that to part 2.

Yes yes, I know it's shitty to drop a "come back for part 2" here, but to be honest, I've been having real problems writing these non-fiction pieces recently, mostly because they keep ballooning into unwieldy great essays.  So, I'm going to try and keep them smaller and more bite-sized to see if that helps.  I'll try and post part 2 next week.
