2025-07-03 18:29:45 +0000 UTCS2 starts with such a big pivot in the narrative for the next arc, it’s especially effective using Einar’s story to create exposition for the new setting & life as a slave. Plus, we’re left with so many questions about how & why Thorfinn is on Ketil’s farm. (And you’ll, of course, get your answers as you keep watching.😉) Einar & Thorfinn is a great pairing—one being naive & resentful about his position as a slave, relying on the mantra that he “must live” to keep going, while the other is quietly obedient & apathetic. And it makes you wonder, why is Thorfinn so complacent about being a slave? This is not the Thorfinn we’re accustomed to from S1.

2025-07-03 01:58:32 +0000 UTCThe animation change Jason is mentioning comes from the studio switch up. S1 is animated by WIT while S2 is by MAPPA. (Coincidentally the same studios involving the switch for AOT). The gap between the seasons was 4 years.
