Frieren is an incredible anime, this was such so much better than I expected especially for my first time watching this. I know solo leveling won anime of the year, and you guys know I absolutely love solo leveling, it’s one of my favorites. But I think Frieren might’ve been robbed. As a whole anime including storytelling, music, animation and the characters and development. Frieren should have won anime of the year. But regardless there are a lot of great anime’s out currently, Frieren just happens to stand out above the rest for me. I can’t wait for a new season next year, Frieren exceeded my expectations and I love this new anime. Jason and Heather, I can’t wait to continue the Frieren journey with you both. Love you guys!

Its music is by the same composer and the show is pretty short and maybe you guys can do a quick Saturday drop of one episode or two every weekend. It def won't disappoint you.

2025-07-01 22:11:06 +0000 UTCNotice when Himmel said the flower field looked beautiful, he was looking at Frieren and not the flower field. Also the significance of Fern finding the fluctuation in Serie's Mana, is that Serie is still suppressing her mana so the gigantic amount you see she has, she still has a hella lot more so Fern seeing it is the fist person to ever see her suppressing it. That's why Frieren knew Serie will underestimate Fern and want to make her her student. Even her own student Lernen never knew she was suppressing her mana and that why she was disappointed in him before he eventually dies. Just goes to show how old Serie really is. Also Seire saying Frieren is still a inexperienced mage for her age is because after Flamme dies, Frieren for a 1000 years basically just meandered around and never dedicated herself as a mage until Himmel recruited her to defeat the DK!

2025-07-01 19:04:44 +0000 UTCAlso, Frieren’s comment about it being “80 years” since she’s been last forced to use “that” is a nod to her fight with the Demon King - the clone used a spell that Frieren recognized as one she uses when backed into a corner, which hasn’t happened since her battle with the Demon King. The fact the clone used it is a testament to Fern’s skill. Secondly, can we talk about that glare from Clone Frieren? COLD AS HELL!!! Lastly… this is the perfect anime ❤️ perfect storytelling. The part with himmel and the spell for a field of flowers? It bringing the group together? Omg ❤️ s2 here we come!!

2025-07-01 17:56:16 +0000 UTCMagic in this universe is so interesting compared to other magic animes I’ve read/seen because of the fact that logic is overruled here by imagination. Other series I’ve read and seen don’t ever incorporate this, and are based upon power systems that rely upon type differences and matchups (for example, fire users versus water users), power levels, and strategy. But in Frieren, it isn’t nearly so simple. They incorporate a totally different approach to the magic system as a whole - if you can IMAGINE it in your brain no matter the type, power level, or illogicalness, you WILL win. Ubel is the prime example of how it doesn’t matter what logic says should dictate the fight, because MAGIC is the power to turn your will into reality. But Sense touches on how humans are constantly and truly held back from unleashing magic’s full potential, because people are intelligent creatures, who use rationality and logic to a fault. The ability to not be held back by preconceived standards is what makes Ubel truly terrifying, because she isn’t held back by these concepts. It doesn’t matter to her if something shouldn’t logically make sense, she’s able to do it anyway - in her own words, “you all think too much”. Anyway, that’s what is really interesting to me about Frieren’s magic system as a whole!
