Finally had a chance to sit down and watch this. Great Reaction. So much love for this movie.

2026-03-03 03:44:59 +0000 UTCThe serpent nature of the goa'uld as well the Jaffa being incubators was an invention for the show. Made them more of a true parasite. One of the funny changes is the spelling of jacks name. The movie shows 1 "L" but 2 in the show so it became a running joke to add " with 2 Ls" when ever he said his name in the show.

2026-02-28 05:00:20 +0000 UTCi watched SG1 a long time ago and really liked it - if only it wasn't SUCH A LONG SHOW i'd totally say we'd like to see your rewatch with you but what a huge time commitment -- big ask of you, and i'm not sure enough people here would be able to stay with it through the whole thing. Tempting to ask if you want to anyway.. maybe put up a poll?

2026-02-25 14:57:56 +0000 UTCStargate the movie was a big surprise success when it was released. So it did spawn the series because people wanted more. I agree with you that Dr Daniel Jackson played by Michael Shanks did a great job in the series. I was happy with the choice when the series came out. Also I was pleased with Richard Dean Anderson version of Jack O'Neal. I meet him in Feb 2019, he looked way different. Almost not recognize him, he was great in the series. I guess time to revise the series again hahaha

2026-02-25 02:56:47 +0000 UTCI always assumed the slight differences from the shows to the movies were just tweaks of the story, and partially budget related. In the movie Jackson did still call Ra a parasite, but they depicted not as a little slug thing, but a full size alien. And I would assume the guys in the headresses in the movie were Jaffa, they just tweaked it a bit for the shows.
