It doesn’t make sense that the hellions are this competent, specially figuring out his teleport ability, at least not so fast.

2025-11-24 01:59:18 +0000 UTCI would also love some more build up before this reveal. Maybe there could be an interlude where the mysterious “Black Hellion himself” takes specific notice of Sorin and decides to do something about it. Like the others have said, right now it’s a pretty jarring shift.

2025-11-22 01:18:53 +0000 UTCI’m not a huge fan of the mysterious reveal of competence from the hellions- that all along the goal was to get Sorin to confirm Liminal Gateway. It doesn’t square with Jorn’s activity at all. And if this is an emergent goal from after Jorn’s death well… that’s just way too fast/tight. On the scale of communication and organization we’ve seen from society so far this would take great dedication, sensitivity, paranoia, and prearranged contingency. Or maybe a soul print of Deus Ex Machina. Ideally a novel development feels like a reveal- something can feel surprising and inevitable at the same time. This one has rough edges to be sanded off.

Not one of Sorin’s friends cos they probably wouldn’t have set up a criminal enterprise. Plus if they were all in his group my head canon theory is his team all got sent to different towers. So this black hellion guy can’t be someone he knows :)

2025-11-21 14:09:11 +0000 UTCHonestly, this chapter leaves some sour taste in the mouth The fact that some boss of a little, as it is currently presented, gang knows about the Liminal Gateway and the fact that it was deduced from just Sorin being a powerful no-name It kinda implies that the boss is aware of the reward for completing (of failing?) the last tower level, or there is some other big power at play And it all happened rather too quickly, in like 3-4 chapters
